2014 Diary

An Unexpected Complement

Dated 2014 May 1 Thu 1 REJAB 1435H

May 1 is the so-called May-Day which was re-branded to Labour-Day because it coincides with the emergency call, then re-branded again to Workers-Day, which becomes a variable in a Boss/Leader profile of an institution or organisation.

When I was leading FPB, staff-ed by a handful of seniors mixed with a bunch of young and juniors, I facilitated, encouraged, and motivated every whichway possible to make them inch on in their career path. The corners in their meander were thornier and stonier unlike during our time in the old days.

Many of them joined fresh after graduated at the time the Fac was born. Being in a very baby state, they really needed guidences from the personnels, as the system was not yet in existence.

An Industrial Revolution of Ceramic

Dated 2014 May 5 Mon 5 REJAB 1435H

I was on the set to TGG on the next day, May 4 Sun. TokJembal needed to be filled up. And later W-Tengah too. Sg Merab had been stuff-ed to the brinks ever since we moved-in, 1988. These are some of the things that we decided to be migrated to. They would last very long, and their use would never cease from human civilisation.

We were surprised by the sheer number and types that we have collected. And most of them are to be anticipated to remain in their status quo in their new destination in TJ or WT.

Many of them are actually rarely been used, some even not at all. Some were acquired in England in early 1980's.

Ceramic had just undergone a leap-tech, just like silicon was in semi-conductor. Ceramic, being inorganic crystals, was known to have a razor-sharp edge along a cut - preceded primitively by the diamond, but how to make the crystal split along a certain line that grossly would make a knife edge? Recently they found it. And thus ceramic knives were born. Just like zone-refining was waited to make silicon wiped all the tube-valves in electronic.

It's entirely different from the metal-edge that as long as human civilisation can remember had been the edge that could cut.

I Gave All the Time That It Needs

Dated 2014 May 9 Fri 9 REJAB 1435H

Been in TGG for the past few days, and invigilated the construction of the extension in Tok Jembal. I opted to do myself the infra of the plumbing and wiring since they were too easy to source out. The only part that I need to source out was the labour to dig, to hack, to drill, and to mix the concrete.

To this far, the extension had all the walls and the roof in place. I needed to link the plumbing infra from outside to inside, and the wiring conduit from the main house to the extension.

In the while the W-Tengah inched on with the floor tiling, and the bath ceiling painting. Both workers would be taken to Tok Jembal once the plastering is done.

It was an enjoyable time-spending.

The Last That Needs Timeline

Dated 2014 May 20 Tue 20 REJAB 1435H

The space between the roof and the ceiling was only 3-in ca. It needed to be done before the latter is fitted in place. And this part needed a true pro indeed, not an amateur. Otherwise it's dead or fatally bites.

I had the feeling that it's been a long tango, and even though differred greatly from before, entirely, it had anti-climax-ed.

But perhaps the entity was not very visible. Not visually so dramatic. That's why.

A Frolic

Dated 2014 May 21 Wed 21 REJAB 1435H

Somebody knocked the door. Yatie in TGG. One of the FPB admin ex-staff, perhaps the longest serving, from KGB to KOTA, back to KGB, to Tembila during the initiation move of FPB, serving the first three deans, until I striked a deal with Reg to unmove her right in KGB which is nearest to her place.

Azlina is the latest entry during my time, in exchange for Zarifah who I let go to Imperial to be close to her place, but recently returned to KGB when the Imperial was discharged.

Now, both are in KGB, even though in separate sections. it took sometimes for the kuza-ans to come to a logical sense. Both were highly dependable in executing their task. And I enjoyed very much working with them.

Knowing them, and most of others too, they would not knock my door again.

Searching for An Identity

Dated 2014 May 23 Fri 23 REJAB 1435H

Reverting to the Feb first time pp after about a month shadowed under Azizah img for a certain purpose. It wasn't fair to her. I searched one of my own since it's time to expose the truth. But the img was a has-been that will never-be-again. The next day, PS-ed one from the archive in Pasar Manir during the last Sat visit. It caught some attention though.

A Firm Identity

Dated 2014 May 26 Mon 26 REJAB 1435H

An img of sea-going in 2008, I'll keep this for a while as the firm identity. It's a virtuality anyway.

A Virtual Sea-Going

Dated 2014 May 30 Fri 1 Shakban 1435H

Img of sea-going from archives dated back to Bidong re-revisited, to match the contemporary pp.

An ex-student knocked on the door. It was Aishah Abdullah, a first-batch graduated BAnimP&H, checking-in 2008 Jul.

The history of BAnimP&H is phenomenal in its birth 2008 Jul, especially the first batch who were offered BAgricBiotech, but were selectively asked to do BAnimP&H when they registered. Most of them endured the pioneering T&L activities. They eventually enjoyed themselves throughout to the graduation day.

And the degree conferement in 2012 Dec was the fourth of Unisza, the third for FPB, and unfortunately the last for me.

The Smile of Keropok

Dated 2014 Jun 2 Mon 4 Shakban 1435H

It's school break to the middle of Jun, and it's going to be the Univ long vac from the second week of Jun. I was in TGG since the fourth week of May, overseering in Tok Jembal as well as in W-Tengah, the former in the stage that every move required verification.

Sea-going was planned for Jun 5 Thu. It's to be joined by CB from Tembila, and SB-Asri from KUL. Alya would hop by AK to anchor in Tok Jembal while visiting her relatives. She would return vice-versa with SB on Sat for the latter to resume his new session in INTEC from the following Mon. Asri would accompany CB on a DRVKUL a few days later, probably Wed.

In the limited speed of C-b-band which sometimes played dead, I posted a Q of a social-stigma in TGG. I knew the answer already, an irony though. It's about the face of the servicing girl. Smile-non-smile, as politely worded by the netter Ruby Mat.

keropok SEDAP jika service-girl, bisanya pekerja, bukan owner, memuncungkan mulutnya macam muncung kerapu hitam, tak layan bercakap, kerja sambil-lewa, bentap walaupun Q panjang.

A Tango with the Night

Dated 2014 Jun 9 Mon 11 Shakban 1435H

Sea-going after more than a month arrangement. Asri insisted to go again, remembering that he enjoyed it for the first time last year 2013 May. SB would like to see his second run, after a fiasco for the first time in 2006 Jun during which everyone, but him, had a good time. Perhaps this was the best ever since my embarkation on sea-going since, seriously, 1999 Sep. And CB was looking forward as always.

Weather-wise, Jun sea-going is not a favourable season, especially at night. By evening, the westerly wind blew. It carried rain, and lightening, and thunder. The sea was very choppy, riding the high wave. The moon set-out while it was raining, the sky was dark. And we were very miserable indeed. Every one retreated to whatever shelter possible, from the rain especially.

There were only six boats in the vicinity. But seeing that no one left their spot, the romance was promising when the storm eased, and the sea get calmer, and the rain stops.

And the rain eventually stopped, never mind the choppy waves, unfortunately close to mid-night when everyone was flat-tired and sleepy. Then candat wasn't a very merry waltz. But seeing nearly all sea-lives surfacing was very excited indeed. Apparently all of them were waiting for the post-rain frenzy at the surface. Even the crabs, and the sea-snake.

Jemuduk Hitam Manis

Dated 2014 Jun 12 Sat 14 Shakban 1435H

I cooked this for CB and Asri before they left Tok Jembal dua beradik on wira-ride back to KUL. For the former, it was a looking forward home-coming in KUL after a long absence while in Tembila, finishing his fourth sem, and for the latter to spend a few days more break before the school resume. But as story-ed, it's a typical menu in the boat in the sea, far away from the land. The menu is very delicious not because of the cook, or the condiments, or the ingredients used, but the freshness of the fish.

A Way Out

Dated 2014 Jun 13 Fri 15 Shakban 1435H

The covers were not there, under the rotting plywood, assumed stolen, as in other houses. Put a deep thinking on how to circumvate the problem.

Came to an idea. Coat them with a concrete. The missing cover was first replaced with a PVC plate, cut-out from a heated-flattened 4-in pipe. Then both were coated with a layer of concrete, sufficiently thick to cover a steel mesh to hold it on.

If it's successful, it will be repeated in W-Tengah.

Titled as Et Seq

Dated 2014 Jun 14 Sat 16 Shakban 1435H

Alone in Tok Jembal, to round up as much as possible the task in completing the extension. The idea crept in while having dinner from the surplus provided by PokSid from the candat Jun 5 last week.

Kepala Dusun

Dated 2014 Jun 17 Tue 19 Shakban 1435H

Virtual preserving the local fruit. KUININ, which I acquired in MANIR last Sat. Deliberated to leave in the kitchen a few pcs so that its nice smell would fill the house. I wonder why the people in Agrobusiness do not harness this fruit. Not even the C-man, why?

The smell is sweet, unlike Durian, one exposed pcs in the kitchen can fill the whole house floor. The taste is weet. The colour is attractively yellow.

Homeward-Bound

Dated 2014 Jun 19 Thu 21 Shakban 1435H

Been in contemplation about it. I could have stayed in Tok Jembal until all the works are done. After all it was only the back-wall, and the easter base-paster. But, both do not require my close verification. CB had taken Asri home since Wed last week. With CB at home, Alya would be free to spend her time in the lab. On that I could be staying for a while more, of course the most to the brink of Shakban end.

But I was out here for quite a long time already, since May 23 Fri. Close to a month, perhaps the longest I stayed away from home in Sg Merab, even during the UDM-UNISZA time. And had been missing home very much.

There is No Place Like Home

Dated 2014 Jun 20 Fri 22 Shakban 1435H

Eventually on the way home. HOME SWEET HOME. First thing in the morning, to beat the inter-city haulers which may perturb the speed. Leaving the serene beach-land to the wasteful metropolitan city.

Jun 21 is the astronomical phenomenon of Solstice. The sun is right on the equator. But I have a bigger phenomenon on that particular day than the solstice. 2010 Jun 21. And I would like to be at home on this day, which took place exactly four years ago.

There is no place like home, even if the home is empty.

Exactly 4 Years Ago

Dated 2014 Jun 21 Sat 23 SHAKBAN 1435H

It's exactly four years today, 2010 Jun 21 Mon. The summer solstice on the astronomy. The longest day in northern hemisphere, and the shortest day in the southern hemisphere.

In the past, in four years, I accomplished a lot of life milestones. In three years from Jan 1964 to Nov 1966 I made my school days in Trg and moved to a distant school. In four years from Jan 1967 to Nov 1970, I accomplished my tenure in SAS, grabbed two school certificates, and proceeded on to a University.

In less than four years from May 1971 to Sep 1974, I acquired a degree from the Univ, and secured a career position as an academician.

In four years from Oct 1976 to May 1980 we were blessed with two children.

In less than four years from Sep 1979 to Mar 1983, I acquired a doctorate to secure a firm career position in a local University.

But four years from Jun 2010 was wasted out of my good-life.

At Ease At Home

Dated 2014 Jun 24 Tue 26 Shakban 1435H

Kept on Flashing

Dated 2014 Jun 26 Thu 28 Shakban 1435H

Netters might have noticed that I've changed the pp several times within these few days with the same img, including the img of Azizah. Well, it was an attempt to recreate the screen appearance to capture for archive in my webpages. Finally I opted to settle with the sea-going attire.

Ramadan Is Here

Dated 2014 Jun 29 Sun 1 Ramadan 1435H

Ramadan 1435H is here, in the calender, to stay for twenty-nine days. This is the fifth consecutive Ramadan the children were without their mother, and for the past four times they were with a small fraction of me, the rest was by themselves since I returned to Sg Merab only during the TGG weekends, i.e., Thu night to either Sat night or Sun morning.

I made up that this year it would be a full me, making up whichever they had lack-ed of me for the past four years. I didn't even submit a cv to any place after last Feb in order to meet the promise. A thing among many other things a parent would do to their children that the children would never do to their parent. Naturally.

Ramadan is one thing, Shawal would be another. The former is easier to make up. With a bit of wisdom, like Adibah Amin used to say, eating-wise, puasa is a very early breakfast. Skipped lunch. And a combine evening tea with dinner at sun-set.

But Shawal is rather tricky since Shawal is about celebration. And celebration has different meaning to different level of people. To some parent, celebration means a passing-over the test of Ramadan, they celebrate with a thankful for the life, health, wealth (whatever the means available), and strength still adhered in cohesion, while others just a jovial celebration in exact manner as their children celebrating with the explosion of fire-play. And the children celebrate in no other way than the meaning of the word celebrate. And for that it's tricky for the children to celebrate without their mother, to comprehend that Shawal just means a new start.

And keep on ticking to find ways to make them feel that everyday is just like yesterday, and tomorrow would be like today.

Worth a Try

Dated 2014 Jul 1 Tue 3 Ramadan 1435H

Another ambitious attempt from TRG. Many times already a scene like this appeared in KUL. But it didn't last long. I guessed the price, the promotion, the consistency which is not supposedly the trg-way. But keropok made in here is still an open niche. The fish meat is available in the fish whole markets, the sago is from Indenesia or Sarawak. Both actually are also the sources for the Trg industries which they explained why the price is getting higher by the day. Nasi dagang is still a niche, but it needed in a consistence way, so that customers could get it at the time they expected so.

Concerted Efforts in Making Up

Dated 2014 Jul 2 Wed 4 Ramadan 1435H

Time for earthling is quantitatively measured based on the rotating of the spinning earth around the sun. A day for a full spin, and a year for a full rotation at an average speed of 108x103 km/hr covering 940x6 km of path. Thus time for the earthling is also proportional to the distance travels by the earth around the sun.

What if the earth travels in a straight line in the empty space? What is the time then for the earthling?

The spin, at an equatorial speed of 1674.4 km/h, and the rotation gives rise to the on-off of sun-lighting of what we call day-night.

Earth atmospheric particles is subjected to Brownian motion with a speed in an average order of 1.8x103 km/h. The earth thus rotates around the sun at a speed of about sixty-times faster than the speed of an atmospheric particle moving about under gravitational pull in the atmosphere.

A Quartet

Dated 2014 Jul 7 Mon 9 Ramadan 1435H

The img was captured 2007 May 4 Fri 1814. The swallows had nested at the wall in the car porch since 2003, and had produced offsprings many times, but unsure they were the same pair, or different pair. The last was seen in 2011 Apr 8, with some mishap to the offspring.

I was then in the middle of organising the ICOTOS 2011. Being a non-animal scientist, I was excited that a swallow/swift nested in my house. Later I was rather ignorantly admitted that they were swallow the nest of which is not edible. The edible nest is that of the swiftlets, which is silky white. And later noted that the swifts and the swallows position themselves oppositely when in the nest. The former to make sure the nest is clean.

Undisputable Power

Dated 2014 Jul 15 Tue 17 Ramadan 1435H

The kicking was from many months before Ramadan. Many kept guessing what it would be. And became more interesting when the tent went up, not the piling for the pillars. Ramadan arrived. And a forthnight later the gost materialised into a shoping centre, mostly fabric for the raya. And being in Bangi, guess who the customer are.

Visited the place. One of the supervisor noted that I was snapping some shots. He approached and very quickly said that no pic allowed. Why? And he accompanied to the end of my visit. Buying the dress? No I said, very expensive. A pair for 280, sorry boy, I'm not going to waste my rm to you. He offered for 150. Uuhh! Nearly fifty-percent discount? No way!

A stone-throw away were lines of small stalls selling the same merchendise, except not in elegent box, and the price was as low as 68. But to be honest, I didn't need the pair. I had plenty already. And my Shawal for the past four times is not about the new pair.

the moral of the story was the buying power. The subject I used to contend in a high-level meeting about the Univ Course which made the entreprenuership a compulsory subject which focus on the students to become traders. All of them? No, a large majority of them would not, and they do not intend to. Thus it's more effective if it is focused on Consumerisme rather than on entreprenuership. The problem was the push was from FPP, to embark on consumerisme it would be from the Law. And the Lawyers don't care, they are well of in term of demand after graduate. People go to the lawyer, but entreprenuers go to the people.

Selfie-ing

Dated 2014 Jul 17 Thu 19 Ramadan 1435H

It wasn't as titled actually. It was part of the task set for Ramadan. To chang the floor surface from the original paquer to tile. The paquer, fitted when the house was built in 1987, had been infested by the white-ant beyond control. All the wooden skirting around the wall had been demaged, and had become the bridge to the furnitures.

A time schedule was planned with CB to work on right before Ramadan. The 20x12 room needed ca 60 pcs of 2x2 tile. If just three pcs could be fitted a day, a month of Ramadan was just right. On the second thought the 2x2 tiles needed professional touch. So in the hard-ware shop, we decided to have just the 20x20, and opted for the rejected lots. It required ca 80 pcs. The target speed set was 4-5 pcs a day. Second half of the day, and after iftar.

The works started when Ramadan set-in. Alignment planning. De-paquer-ed. Preparing the floor. CB scheduled task was preparing the cement mix. Lay-ing the tiles. A pcs at a time.

This selfie was in the near end of the tiling. Whole pcs were nearly all done. It wasn't that easy with the size of the tiles to them appear professional. Leveling. Alignment. In wiggling with the rejected-grade tiles. The rest were the sides and the corners which needed the tiles to be cut and tailored into size and shape. That's was how I got the snow-frozen, from the dust created during the tile cutting and grinding.

The most labour-intensive was to mix the cement. It took ca two-and-half bucket of mix per pcs. It took that much because the paquer-floor wasn't sufficiently level in the first place, thus it had to be raised. Which consequently needed the door to be trimmed too.

CB was a great help. He eventually acquired the skill of estimation the amaount of mix per pcs, as well as the correct fluidity for optimum lay-ing. He himself has a few masterpiece of tile lay-ing.

A Savage Missile

Dated 2014 Jul 18 Fri 20 Ramadan 1435H

A savage missile hit MH 17 AMS-KUL on Jul 17, another B-777, killing all on board, mostly the Dutch holiday makers, 30k-ft on the border of Ukraine-Rusia. A second MH B-777 disappeared from the sky after MH 370 KUL-Beijing in Mar.

It was very much a tragedy of international matter. A terrorism in which a small defenseless country was made a target, knowing that it would not be a faint of retaliation. Unlike 370 which was publicly made a lost without a trace, the 17 was charred to the ground visible by any eagle-eye.

An Addiction

Dated 2014 Jul 26 Sat 28 Ramadan 1435H

Been tight up with tiling of the floor. It has been progressing well, but the room was so messy, dusty, that the table had to be covered with a cloth. And Mac was underneath it. The resource was also focused to the progressing tiling which at the end with much jobs were the touching-up, but needed neatly. Much of the night time was devoted to it.

Scrambled in the kitchen to keep the fb wall ticking, knowing that food is one of the most common denominator for the netters. And found this.

Nevertheless it wasn't just a peg to fill a hole. The dish was really addictive, especially during the iftar.

There was an intention between the lines that made the dishes of ikan singgang of two types of fish.

Selamat Hari Raya Idilfitri 1435H

Dated 2014 Jul 26 Sat 28 Ramadan 1435H

Posted just before the eve of Shawal to wish a happy hari raya for the fb-fren as of dated. For the festive season the school break was from Jul 26 Sat to Aug 3 Sun. INTEC had another week extra.

Shawal 1435H 2014M

Dated 2014 Jul 28 Mon 1 Syawal 1435H

Eventually Shawal 1435H is here, 2014 Jul 28 Mon, after 29 days of Ramadan. For the fifth consecutive times - a long time apparently. It was just a day, only a slightly different from the day before that all were up early for the morning solat after a quick b-fast.

On the whole, like the last four, the only life-showing ticking was in the morning. Once the morning went through, life returned to normal. I even had a quick carpentary from a dissatisfaction of the day before in reclaiming the white-ant-demaged desktop table.

Friends and acquaintances, even relatives, were alike, all were into a new phase of life. Some were like unknown, some were just occupied with more important, or more interesting, matters in their new phase. Some simply regarded as doesn't matter anymore. The human evolution mile-stones of every ten years. 2014.. 2004.. 1994.. 1984.. 1974.. 1964.. 1954..

Nevertheless since in re-contact with TGG in 2007 Jul, I managed this Ramadan to spend the whole month, to Shawal, with the children, making up for the interrupted lost during the time. Things I never had since being together from 1976, and evolved from then. I made my solemn intention.

I could have made some happenings if I take all the children to TGG, but that would not make us a day better than the day before. Although we would stay in our own home, the feeling of not-at-home would prevail among the children.

The first Shawal receded very fast, but the month would linger on for thirty-days. Contemplating on the best date to return to TGG to resume the house of W-Tengah, as well as the finishing of the extension in Tok Jembal, but it would be from mid-Shawal since the workers inertia is very high after Shawal. CB had the whole Aug to spend with Asri and Alya in Sg Merab, in Sep he would resume his 5-th Sem in Tembila.

Transgressing Shawal

Dated 2014 Jul 31 Thu 4 Shawal 1435H

Perhaps for the first time there had been no raya greeting-cards arrived at home. The post-office was in no need to hire part-timers like the years before. And electronically, sms and wasap, were just a sporadic. But only Fb was, when one is a member, and home-connected. Incidentally it was more of the latter-age, the former is no longer an indispensable logistic for the festive season.

We caved-in most of the initial Shawal days. No one to go, and invariably no one to come in. There was no place like HOME, eventhough with the provision of a very basic foods. Since the onset of Ramadan, I worked out, an atom at a time, a session at late afternoon, and another after terawih, to restore the house to become a home again. The house had been neglected for the past four years. Cleaning, tidy-ing, de-dusting, de-staining, de-webbing, and for the whole Ramadan, de-infesting our room by resurfacing the floor from the infested paquer, to tiles.

Shawal would take us transgressing together, invariably through the fifth year. Shawal would inevitably come to its end. But when it disappears, I don't know where we would be taken to.

Being Poked

Dated 2014 Aug 1 Fri 5 Shawal 1435H

Perhaps it was too serious for the mobile-ers, or too heavy for casual-ers. For sure it was humourless, and thus unimbibing. The poker himself was not prepared himself.

The subject itself was too vague, too subjected to personal opinion and experience. And the latter especially, either confined to the local, even worse a local of the local, or had been expanded internationally.

Local Univ staff had been in agony for being subjected to many times of ordeal already, especially since after 1980's, when there were nearly twenty in number had been established, but their respective function had been poorly defined, and thus, every one tried to project their edge to please the fund-provider. Ironically none of the institution realised its reason d'etre for being in existence. Participation in the national development, in their own variable that they can develop at will, as long as contributive. That they don't have to compete among themselves, but instead internally with itself respectively, the success being measured by how much the government had become externally less dependent from its contribution, along the line how a developed country had evolved.

A large fraction of national fund is allocated for the local institutions. A large fraction from it is just for maintenance, not for development. And so far virtually return-free.

Somebody must soon realise that the fund is not for fun anymore. Everyone has a job to do, before too late.

The Fun is Somewhere Else

Dated 2014 Aug 3 Sun 7 Shawal 1435H

We were like hermit crabs in a sense during the break that we caved-in when we were not hunting for provision. And we went out only to replenish our provision. Shawal had not meant much to us for the past four years. Ramadan was more important in that in making sure we are properly through it. Shawal had not been a celebrative, but rather just a post-Ramadan.

We certainly would have been in Trg for the break if Azizah were still around. The holiday schedule was just right for the school for every children. And the house in Tok Jembal is just very comfortable to host us, as long as we want, without giving a stress to others as normally before. And I was not in any tie to jet-set to or from any where any more. Actually we had been waiting for this kind of moment since we've been together. We were blessed in different ways though.

Unfortunately, every reason to spend the break in Trg had ceased. This break, and perhaps the subsequent breaks. I have the feeling that the children would feel very much not-at-home in Trg. In Sg Merab at least, they feed and fun, shower and sleep, and leasure and lazy. All among themselves, with me at home all the time, for the first time post-2007, and especially post-2010.

Of late, En Zul had been a constant virtual companion. An FPSK staff in KOTA, we met frequently when FPB was in KOTA, then rarely when we moved to KGB in 2011, and since recently very frequently again, but in virtuality. His friendly lough could make one's sorrow recedes for a while.

A New Approach

Dated 2014 Aug 6 Wed 10 Shawal 1435H

Assume a closed space containing two molecules of hydrogen H2 and one molecule of oxygen O2 at time to. The space is subjected to natural phenomenon. After a while, at time t1, the three molecules in the space underwent a change into two molecules of water H2O. Thus over the time t1-to the space had undergone some kind of aging. The energy states had changed.

If the the three molecules in the space had not changed, i.e. remained two molecules of hydrogen H2 and one molecule of oxygen O2, then there is no meaning of t1. The space remains at to, i.e. to the space, the time stand-still.

After a while, after being subjected to another phenomena, at time t3, the two molecules of water H2O in the space underwent a change back into three molecules, i.e. two molecules of hydrogen H2 and one molecule of oxygen O2, the energy states of the space returned to as in to. For the space, therefore, the time has reversed.

To an observer, the space has moved in time from to through t1 to t2, but to the space, the time has reversed from to to t1 and back to to. To the space the time t2 did not exist.

A Message

Dated 2014 Aug 9 Sat 13 Shawal 1435H

As dated they are not news, but had transformed into stories. True stories.

The message apparently did not reach the target. It didn't amuse or entertain either.

Aug 11 Mon, DRVTGG in Nissan with CB. The mission was to fit the four doors in W-Tengah house so that it could be locked from outside, and thus closed to those non-relevent.

Check-List of Tools

Dated 2014 Aug 16 Sat 20 Shawal 1435H

Making sure the tools were right, otherwise thousands could be lost. The task was to fit the doors to the frame. Each door is to be interfaced with three 5-in s/s 304 hinges.

Measuring tape, L-ruler, spirit-level, flat-pencil, big and small hammers, wide and narrow chisles, hand-planer, sand-paper, cordless-screw-driver, paint-brush, cement-spatula, sharpening-knife.

Endurance

Dated 2014 Aug 17 Sun 21 Shawal 1435H

As always Sat morning is market time in Manir, for the very original produce of the most authentic very small time owner-sellers in the vicinity. Captured this img for virtuality.

On the Job

Dated 2014 Aug 17 Sun 21 Shawal 1435H

Slow, but steady. If I were to have been through tens of years of experience, with similar skill of using modern tools, I would have done a much better job than this.

Receding Deep Into the Past - Wakaf Mesira

Dated 2014 Aug 18 Mon 22 Shawal 1435H

Deliberately detoured to stop by Wakaf Mesira on the way to the job in W-Tengah. Approaching from Maras, this place is at T-junction, to the left is to Tepoh, and to the right is to Lingai.

In the 60's this place was a sub-market-place, a sub-station for K-Trg-Batu-Rakit bus route. I was in the bus during that time during the school holidays when my father sent my mother, and us, to spend the holidays on the beach with my mother's beach-life relatives in Mengabang Panjang, Batu Rakit, Mengabang Telung, Pengkalan Maras, and Tanjung Gelam. But I never stopped at this place. Ending 2-nd millenium, I frequently passed this place, but still never stopped by. And more frequently into the third millenium. Perhaps this is the first time I stopped for a "minum air" here in my life. 2014 Aug 17 Sun 930 ca.

Wakaf Mesira in the old days was well-known for the very sweet tea and coffee, and iced-syrup, with the added sugar or sweetened condensed milk. So sweet that after finishing the drink, the drying sugar-milk formed a sticky layer on the outside of the glass.

The sweetness is in the name "Mesira". The local say is "Ssira", which means soaked in a lot of sugar-syrup. E.g., "pisang sira" - sugar-syrupped-banana, is boiled banana in a thick sugar-solution. Many other fruits are "sira"-ed in thick sugar solution.

Currently this place is not yet "developed" as in Gong badak, but being at the foot of the hill, it's development is imminent. Currently the development is not accelerated due to either the land owners are not it's resident, or lacking of fund by the resident-owner. Selling the land is not yet a frenzy in this place. Good thinking folks.

Mother Love

Dated 2014 Aug 28 Thu 2 Z-Kaedah 1435H

The maternal bond still exists among the cats even though the offspring had grown to almost independent, especially in the cold of the night, and the wet of the monsoon night rain.

These are some of the cats that roamed in my home in Pengkalan Arang during my last four years stay. We share the shelter, but not the foods.

I also shared my home then with other cat-like creatures, which from time to time showed-up themselves to thank my hospitality.

They even bring their family to introduce to me. And even invited for a frolic.

A Quickie

Dated 2014 Aug 30 Sat 4 Z-Kaedah 1435H

It was Sat. We were packing for a DRVTGG, taking Alya, Asri for a break. And CB was en route to Tembila for his 5-th Sem beginning the first week of Sep. Until then four of us would leasure in the house in Tok Jembal, and a pleasure in W-Tengah.

SB was in the college after an early home-weekend from Wed evening.

A Night Drive to TGG

Dated 2014 Aug 31 Sun 5 Z-Kaedah 1435H

A night drive to Trg. The img was captured the day before, at the bends just before Terowong Sempah. It was a rainy start in Sg Merab, 6 pm ca. It was a clear drive through KUL. But immediately after Gombak toll, congestion started. It re-clear-ed after Karak Toll.

It was close to 10 when we arrived in Gambang RR. And the only reasonable food to eat was the nasi lemak.

East coast was dry actually. And for the congestion we arrived in Tok Jembal an hr late than the bench-mark.
