A Scare After Walimah |

The ninth quantum of MCO-Recovery, R-MCO-Q9 started Sep 30 Wed, to end Oct 13 Tue. The eighth quantum, R-MCO-Q8 of MCO-RECOVERY, which commenced Sep 16 Wed, ended Sep 29 Tue did not give a stopping effect. In fact enhancement was observed, chiefly due to PRN-linked travelling by the Penin-zen, especially the politician. The SABAH 'BREW' had spilt into the Peninsular, all states returned to yellow zone. The seventh R-Q7, the R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 just passed by. Currently well over a thousand positives were in the isolation wards, nearly the same number as when the MCO was enforced in Mar.

Oct started with the mood of a Walimah, Oct 1 Thu, in Jalan Pusara, helping Dr Jamil preparing his house for the AKAD of his daughter JIRA tomorrow, Oct 2 Fri, at their home in Jalan Pusara, which would be followed by the walimah in OMBAK DERU LODGE, Rhu-2 chalet, Marang, the next day Oct 3 Sat. 
CB-SB-ASRI 3-beradik arrived in W-Tengah in BKD at night Oct 2 Fri. The walimah was in OMBAK DERU LODGE, Rhu-2 chalet, Marang, the next day Oct 3 Sat. CB-ASRI joined, but after their visit in Tok Jembal to their grandma who overseered the makan2 in Kamal's place, said to be on Murni for her daughter UiTM Puncak Alam admission. SB unfortunately was not in perfect fit, and thus stayed in W-Tengah. Three of them DRVKUL back Oct 4 Sun. Oct 5 Mon, DRV-JERTEH in Nissan, carry-ing the chainsaw and accs. Seen P-RIMAU progress of erecting the perimeter fence. Currently waiting for the chain-linked to arrived, and the gate accs. The most was in T-BUGIS when the chainsaw was employed. Makin bon-fire to prune the dead fallen branches. Incidentaly IDI was around to assist.
Oct 6 Tue, scheduled to DRVKUL, but something was 'brewing' in Jerteh invoking the Oct 3 Sat Rhu-2 Walimah, during which a brief appearance took place which subsequently shivered a bit the relatives of Jerteh-zen. We decided to linger a while more. In the while, in SEPETIR backyard, the GUCHIR was pruned off, Oct 8 Thu, plus other grounders. The guchir was the host of the KACANG BULUS, ex-Reunion KIJAL 2017 APR which now ceased existing after a few times spring pruning. Some efforts had been made to grow it in W-Tengah. To this far it didn't appear to grow as well as in Sepetir.
Oct 10 Sat 22 Safar 1442H, decidedly DRVKUL, again in TAV with NA leaving Nissan on leave. A break in PAKA RR, where we captured the negativity w-msg of the Masjid Kayu matter. Both LPT were noticeably less travelled. The RR were especially noticeable. MRR2 after 2 was also very clear for the Sat afternoon. And especially the Flamingo, and BTS which were the the mother of construction. It was gloomy in TRG when we embarked. It was very cloudy along both LPT, fotunately sans rain. Temerloh arc-bridge was captured on a white b-ground. |

The ninth quantum of MCO-Recovery, R-MCO-Q9 which started Sep 30 Wed, continued to end Oct 13 Tue. The figures were getting more and more scary though. The term "RECOVERY" was then misleading. The eighth quantum, R-MCO-Q8, the seventh R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 just passed by. Currently well over four thousands positives were in the isolation wards, nearly the same number as when the MCO was enforced in Mar. 
The country was in a suspense when AI, claiming he has the number, since two days before Sabah PRN, Sep 26 Sat, was granted audience with the King Oct 13 Tue. The country was painted in the social media as on the verge of having PM-9, and in the deep nucleus of Covid pendamic. Oct 14 Wed 26 Safar, the Q10 of R-MCO, a 2.0 MCO was imposed in SELANGOR-PUTRAJAYA-KL, and SABAH districts, because the number was too staggering, and for the past Q9 period the number was explosively increasing. The Q10 would end Oct 27 Tue 10 R-Awal if the flattening is successful.

The days through the Re-RMCO Q-10 were full of confusion. It was a loud rumbling in the capital with full of puzzles, WHO IS WHO kind of thing. BLACK SPY vs WHITE SPY rampage. One thing for sure the rakyat is getting clearer and clearer the true meaning of BERJUANG UNTUK RAKYAT, and very clear indeed on why the politician took all HIMSELF to the street in order to keep clinging to the fruiting political tree in the middle of soaring covid. The personal front. The party front with ethnic constitution. And the ethnic waiting game itself. The SERENGETI was here to be watched. Without the soaring covid the rakyat would not know that. The ground support was similarly telling. The game of mutual-back-scratching. It was hard not to adduce the non-synthetical analyses of the situation. In the while around Bangi, things did not return to normal. The BAZAAR of Tue, Sat, and Thu evening, and the Sun morning all had been transferred to TENERA, but apparently the sellers had dwindled, and thus the buyers dwindled accordingly. The most was the acquisition of WWS 4076 into the FLEET for SB to use. Oct 27 Tue, all matters with PUSPAKOM and JPJ were sorted. It was from Bukit Mahkota.

The re-MCO for KL-SELANGOR-PUTRAJAYA was extended for another quantum. The 11-th quantum, started Oct 28 Wed to Nov 10 Tue. The Q11 of R-MCO. Preceded were R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed. Nilai in NS bordering Selangor was included. Sabah was getting worse. Sarawak was picking up as well. 2020 is going to be swallowed by covid. 
The sweet home, began appearing non-characteristic, brought about by the landscaping changes.
Oct 31 Sat, visited MANIR SAT MORNING BAZAAR, after many months, perhaps since before MCO in mid Mar. Noted some people we know each other were absent. One was the MOK TEH BAULU who always gave me ca 20% more baulu than the ringgit. And the KAK-YAH of KARAS.

Oct 30 Fri 13 R-Awal 1442H, made a DRVTGG with NA in TAV, after a quick acquisition of travel endorsement in B-Baginda P-Station. The doc was needed prior to TnG-ed in Gombak toll. 
Nov 2 Mon, DRV-JERTEH, in WIRA, with pruning equipment including chainsaw. Intended to seeing the orchard in T-BUGIS too, how the rainy season growth had overcome the pruning done by IDI. And to see how the PAGAR in P-RIMAU was furnished, and to settle the cost. Noted the excess tiang-pagar which were good for W-TENGAH. But WIRA could not carry it, one-foot too long. NA made it possible by borrowing the RANGER of Abg Murad. The drive reminded me of the TM we acquired in 1989, and let go in 2003.
And thus another reverse DRV-JERTEH Nov 4 Wed to return the RANGER with an unfortunate fate the brake hose of the right front wheel burst off fortunately very close to a 4WD w-shop in Gong Nering. The replacement was very swift, but the waiting was rather a game. And back in WIRA.
Nov 7 Sat, another DRV-JERTEH, for the third time, again carry-ing the STIHL. The weather was fine, but the last rain had wet-ed all over the ground. Thus cutting down the trees were fine, but bon fire could not be made self-sustainable. The most was planting the plant-lets, especially in P-RIMAU, knowingly, fenced, the predators could not menace. In P-RIMAU they were karas, nyior pandan, limau nipis, and pisang kelat. One pisang kelat in Tok Bugis, the second after the first quite a while ago.
In W-Tengah too. The rainy season had made the plat-lets grew to their nature. The limau was ex-Padang Luas. The nyior was ex-Suzarina of Nordin, said to be a breed from the Philippine. Those in W-Tengah, all were anti-feral-boxed.

The pandemic worsened, the positives kept increasing, used to reached very close to 2k a day, and in hundreds in Peninsular especially in the capital. The Q11 of R-MCO was shortened by two days to de-metamorph back to a pedigree MCO as in Mar from Nov 9 Mon, double quantum, for four weeks to Dec 6 Sun. The Q12, and Q13. However, Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan were spared, but yet to stay at SOP state. Preceded were R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed. The plan for DRVKUL changed due to the re-MCO. Several days needed to elucidate to get the necessary papers to tavel.

Rainy season started in TRG. The rain persisted, especially in the morning, sans thunder and lightening though, with occasional sunny afternoon. The rain was good for the plant-lets. The occasional sunny was good for furnishing the leftovers.
Nov 14 Sat, made a DRV-SETIU, an inter-district travel which was a condition during current MCO. On the way to, one R-BLOCK in Nyatoh. On the way back two R-Blocks. The Nyatoh, and the Terakit. Neither was actually at the district border. And none was seen making a u-turn at the r-block. 
Nov 16 Mon, DRVKUL in TAV, after obtaining the travel permit in Gong Badak the day before. It was rainy in the morning in TRG, but sunny-ing was picking up fast as soon as the sun rose. In the media it was reported that the pandemic in KL-Selangor was rising while in Sabah where the second wave originated and farmed by the power-diggers, was cooling down. The weather was fine throughout DRV. Scattered white clouds, with some sunny. Both h-ways were rather quiet. Including in all the RR and LB. We made just one stop, in PAKA for the refreshment, washroom, and refuelling. Just one r-block, before TnG-ing in Gombak, the travel endorsement was examined. KL was rather quiet too when we arrived, ca 2-30, even at the constipating points of never-ending-construction in Ampang-Flamingo and BTS-SGBesi. Nonetheless in the evening Sg Merab was showered with a torrents of thunderous rain.

The pandemic did not ease, the daily positives was in the vicinity of 1k, and climbing in the capital. The figures in Sabah showed some easing. The current Q12 which would take to Nov 22 would indicate the trend of the following Q13 which was ruled to end Dec 6 Sun. Preceding were, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed. Ostensibly many choruses were caught in the middle of the SOP. 
Nov 22 Sun 6 R-Akhir 1442H, a gathering of ank-cu2 for ASRI's 20th BD, which was exactly Mon the next day. Every one was present except ALYA 4-beranak in JB, for obvious MCO reason. The year 2000 was a year when we reflected later, full of signs of things to come. One was the post-birth of ASRI which concluded the members of the first generation. Unaware then, we started contemplating the next generation.

From TRG it was rainy season. KL was also rainy, but the typical local rain, in the afternoon, thunderous, and torrential. Occasionally the rain water clogged into flash floods. 
STIHL returned to Sg Merab together during the last DRVKUL Nov 16 Mon. It was utilised for the first in Sg Merab Nov 21 Sat. Cutting the dead rambutan. OGAWA had not made to Sg Merab.

The Q12 of Re-MCO which ended Nov 22 Sun was continued with the Q13 which would end Dec 6 Sun. Some changes were made though on the states being under MCO. E.g., Terengganu was delisted from Re-MCO, Kelantan was listed. Selangor was hard hit, neibouring Nismilan tagged closely. Preceding were, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed. After Dec 6, some payoff were expected.

2020 was receding fast, under pandemic MCO. Staying home was greatly encouraged. Go out only when necessary, and strictly SOP-ed. And that's how Tenera bazaar in Bangi, Sat, Tue, and Thu evening, and Sun morning, furnishes the ct-zens, complementing the daily Bangi wet market. The former was known to be cheaper.
Nov 24 Tue 8 R-Akhir 1442H drove to MALAKAT MALL CYBERJAYA, to replenish the stocks in the kitchen. On the way back, in Presint Diplomatik, there was the inter-district movement check on the opposite direction. Apparently we missed it on the way to by being a bit too early.
Nov 29-30 Sun-Mon 13-14 R-Akhir 1442H, tended to the ROOF matter which concerned us for sometimes now. All involved the vertical roof-tiles. First the forehead top row in selasar, due to the rotting holding wood bar. Rectified once before, but due to the rotten holding wood, it didn't last long enough. Second, the forehead of top roof. And finally third the furthest tip, the eastern, the broken tiles were menaced by the monkey. All were fixed in the two days by the pair Muslim-Herman who were arranged by Muzani.
Finally it's December of 2020. When 2020 was introduced in the years before the 3-rd millennium, all sorts of heavenly bright features were laid before the people. All were rosy and alluring. Some pessimistic though, that they may not live to that long to "taste" the 2020 "heaven". Nonetheless, they were still given the chance to reach it. On reaching, all were surprises. One of them was that it was a devise for some to cling on power, the power for every thing. With the pandemic wrapped globally, 2019 and the years before were much better. Perhaps for some, advancing the time, means getting worse. We could only get better if we could reverse the time.

The Q13 of R-MCO have a few days more, which would end Dec 6 Sun. Judging by the statistics of current daily count, more QUANTUMS would be needed. Preceding were, R-Q12, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed. After Dec 6, some payoff were expected. 
The rain subsided by Dec 4 Fri, easing a lot for the Friday noon. Still cloudy with sporadic faint blue sky. The roads quickly swarmed by cars in every direction. Signs of flooding were every where. The beach of Ketapang formed a MENGABANG. Ketapang Fri morning bazaar was still in the raining mood. But Manir Sat morning bazaar was in full swing. MD NOR KITOSAN, and his mate SUHAIMY, popped in TRG, had a tea with him at a warung in front of Masjid KUZA, Dec 5 Sat, before dashing to Manir. I first met both in 2018 in BANGI.

Dec 2 Wed 16 R-Akhir 1442H, a DRVTGG in TAV with NA after getting an endorsement in B-Baginda P-Station. MRR2 was rather quite. Reaching Gombak was in much less than the benchmark. The endorsement was needed before TnG-ing at the toll. Similarly in LPT1 and LPT2. The RR, and LB were very quite. Very few motorist stopped, and thus the meal providers were also scantily. Weather-wise, it was cloudy in the west coast, and Pahang. It turned rainy in TRG, started after Kijal. It was sunny on reaching W-TENGAH, but it was a thunderous lightening downfall at night throughout that in the morning it was a cry of WATER! WATER!, even in town K TRG. 
Dec 6 Sun, the daily positives were still in the thousands, it was made clear that, MCO was lifted, except in the capital states with some exception districts, but SOP was to be more strictly enforced. In Selangor, which number-wise, overtook Sabah, it was extended to Dec 20 Sun, the R-Q14, Dec 7 Mon to Dec 20 Sun. 
Dec 8 Tue 22 R-Akhir 1442H, it was a showery morning, but seeing it subsiding as the day rolled, made a DRV with NA northwards. First, stopped by in PERMAISURI, searched for CG KIANG MUDA. Found and reminicse-ed. NA's F1 math teacher in Ittifaqiah 1983, was my F1-3 classmate in Padang Midin 1964-66. And a good friend of NA's elder brother Abg Par and wife Kak-Lah, since before their marriage when three of them were in SMA Setiu. Subsequent inclusion in SMKPM Alumni, net-ed some info on Kiang's Primary School-mate in Marang, my F1 buddy in 1964 Hashim Anang, who according to Abdullah Salleh had long passed away, and was met by Mariam several times she said when he was a Kuantan PO staff. 
Dec 12 Sat another DRV-JERTEH with NA, attending an impromptu event of engagement of NA's niece, one she grew up together in the house since born in P-Panjang. The itinerary started at near afternoon, and was led by Abg Par. The guests were from Gua Musang. It was a simple engagement to every body thankful relief. The event that would follow was tentatived in Mar next year. |
Dec 6 Sun, the demise of ABG MEK in NGABANG TELUNG. She was one of those few left in Ngabang Telung who I acquainted since my childhood when my mother took us to visit from time to time. She was my maternal relative, the closest was by her husband Abg Mat who is a son of my mother's cousin MokNgoh Mandak. Her house was like on a triagular apex with that of late MokLong Su and her daughter late MokChik Yam, the host place we settled whenever we visited Ngabang Telung.

The R-Q14 in the capital states was continued to Dec 20 Sun, taking the Q of the Q13, and the previous R-Q12, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed. In other states the MCO were all lifted, ironically, in the middle of rising pandemic, and in the thousand, daily. 
Dec 18 Fri, as expected, it was made known that the MCO-things for the capital states were extended to Dec 31 Thu, making sequentially R-Q15, Dec 21 Mon to Dec 31 Thu, of the R-MCO series. The quantum had been shortened to 10 days rather than 14 days as previously. With the daily positives still in the thousand, what's the hope was uncertain. 
All hands were on the rope to draw the curtain of 2020. But we all remembered 2020 as the year of covid-19 pandemic with a lot of political elements transmitted from 2018 May PRU-14 through to the Feb Sheraton and Sep Sabah Election, in contrast to the heavenly promise made ca 40 years ago. |
Dec 14 Mon 28 R-Akhir 1442H, DRVKUL, to spend the rest of 2020 in SG MERAB. We were contemplating on getting the endorsement before setting off, but on re-read the last TRG-bound endorsement, it was clear that arguably it did not need a new one. It was a drizzling morning when we left W-TENGAH. Since MCO was lifted, we would use the TRG-bound endorsement if needed on the way. As the day rolled, and as further receded, soft sunny appeared. We tried to dash as fast as possible, but had to make for the washroom in KIJAL LB and GAMBANG RR. The Gombak toll check-point was lifted, both ways. When we arrived, KL was as wet as in TRG. The most significant were perhaps the quietness of RR on both LPT2 and LPT1, and the massive congestion in the never-ending-construction BTS.
Weather-wise in Sg Merab was not much different from in TRG. Overall days were gloomy. Some soft sunshine in the late morning, but turned very cloudy after the noon. However frequently ended with a light shower, and through the night. The ground nonetheless was always wet, discouraging to mow the house perimeter.

The Year Ended, the Pandemic Did Not |

For the states in the capital, it was the R-Q15 for the remaining 10 days of Dec, i.e., Dec 21 Mon to Dec 31 Thu. But with the daily positives still in the thousand, the hope continued uncertain into the new year. Done were the Q14, Q13, R-Q12, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 from Jun 10 Wed, each for 14 days quantum. In other states the MCO were all lifted, with only the SOP to observe, ironically, in the middle of rising pandemic, and in the thousand, daily. Dec 28 Mon, it was announced that the pandemic measures would be continued for the capital states and in some other areas. It's another 14-day quantum from Jan 1 Fri to Jan 14 Thu of the new year 2021. Most people have forgotten what the MCO was then, was it Recovery? Conditional? or whatever. 
Dec 25 Fri, Alya et al home-coming ex-JB, arriving close at mid-night. She had many times deferred the home-coming due to the pandemic MCO. Dec 26 Sat, drove to Sabak Bernam for a walimah of NA's KIK classmate. SB, ASRI accompanied. It was a mission day-drive from 9 to 5, especially to-wards, being given to WAZIR to lead which took us crossing two FELDA-s. The SG RANGI, and the SOEHARTO. On the home-wards I took over the lead, and took it on the pre-PLUS route. The rain had slowed us a bit though.
Dec 27 Sun, ank-cu2 gathered for a makan2, sans Muzani et al 5-beranak who were on weekend break in Penang, otherwise all thirty-three were in.
Including, Dec 29 Tue, in Ampang vicinity, a dip in a stream among themselves. Dec 30 Wed was Adam Zafeer's 1st BD.

An attempt to preserve a RAMBUTAN, planted perhaps in the 90's, ex-Kalang Arang. The plantlets was budded by ABG WI from a tree at his home in Kalang Arang which he budded from the parent tree at my home in the same Kalang Arang which was of my father's father generation. The tree had been cut down when NAWI MOKDA built his house, next to my house then. The rambutan was named CHE DER. If the budding is successful, and grow well when transferred to the ground, the parent plant would be cut down. It's overgrown and unproportionate due to irregular pruning and overcrowding in a small place.
2020 eventually ended. Dec 31 Thu, 16 J-Awal 1442H. The heavenly promises made ca 40 years ago about the 2020, were really the inverse of them. In reality, the year 2020 was the year of the COVID-19 PANDEMIC and the year of selfish RAT-RACING in POLITIC, the never ending sequences of 2018 May PRU-14, in a country of multi-ethnic of distinctive origin of non-assimilative culture. |
