The First Friday of Post-MCO

Dated 2020G Jul 7 Tue 15 Z-Kaedah 1441H

The Q2 of RECOVERY MCO started Jun 24 Wed, to end Jul 7 Tue 15 Z-Hijjah. Some sanctions with regard to the GATHERING were eased off. Distancing SOP continued. Masjid re-opened for jemaah and jumaat. Schools reopened for the exam forms only, viz, F3, and F5, and U6. Universities stayed online.

Jun 26 Fri 4 Z-Kaedah 1441H was the 15th Fri of MCO. The 1ST MCO-NO-JUMAAT FRI, was MAR 20. Today was my first re-Jumaat post-MCO. It was in MASJID TELIPOT. Some Masjid had been allowed to have the jemaah and Jumaat since the 13-th MCO-Fri, Jun 12. But the SOP was very stringent. Like all in gathering, the name, phone-number, locality, face-masked all the time, and the IR-forehead-temp. And 1m-free-volume. According the the guide, a 5 and half hundreds of number aka 'seats' were issued. With 1m-free-volume, it meant a quater of the capacity. The prayer was quick. No solat-sunat between azans, the khutbah was short, and was read swiftly, as well as the surah-lazim. The exit was also guided, reminding every one of the assembly in the school hall when we were in the school days.

Jul 3 Fri 11 Z-Kaedah 1441H, ALL SURAU, MASJID were DE-MCO-ed, but the 1m-radius free-volume was strictly maintained. And non-citizen were not allowed. The free-volume made the capacity reduced to only ca a third of their normal capacity. We went to MASJID MPI. Being early, there was no problem of not allowed, or no vacant 'seat'. Apparently, even though the 'seat' number was allocated, in the Masjid, it was a free-seating. Unlike in TELIPOT last week, the seat number was marked on the floor in the Masjid, and one must adhere to the number allocated for him at the entrance.

Jun 24 Wed, a DRV-JERTEH, seeing the home of P-PANJANG, the adik-beradik, and the Tok Bugis orchards, in which practically sans promise, and including the odd in Pulau Rimau. And in JABI on return-DRV, seeing a NA's colleague, En Pendi who perhaps being a Qariah member of Masjid Jabi knew very well my school buddy Hussein Wahab.

Jun 28 Sun 6 Z-Kaedah, a post-MCO visit to PASAR PAYANG. It was too many people, almost all ignored the SOP, even wearing a mask, After getting just the essential, I aborted the stroll. Many of the visitors were the domestic tourist. Dashing homewards, the fun was with the fish sold on the stalls along the beach of Tok Jembal, through to Batu Rakit.

Including a makan2, Jun 29 Mon, with old acquaitances. In particular Roslan Arshad, and Dr Abdullah.

Jun 30 Tue 8 Z-Kaedah 1441H, DRVKUL with NA, and in TAV, which had been stationed in Sepetir for many months even before the MCO. It was just like DRVTGG ten days ago, but we opted the Shell in PRASING for the zohor wash while refuelling. The place was quiet because it's rather isolated. The RR facility was rather poor. The weather was fine on both LPT. A 'slight' congestion on crossing the TEROWONG because the westbound terowong was closed. Again mysteriously the traffic in MRR2 was so light that the benchmark of 45-min was achieved from Gombak to Sg Merab. The construction in MELATI-MELAWATI, AKLEH-FLAMINGO, and BTS-SGBESI were like never end.

In Q3 of MCO-Recovery - A Homewardsbound

Dated 2020G Jul 21 Tue 29 Z-Kaedah 1441H

The Q3 of MCO-RECOVERY started Jul 8 Tue, to end Jul 21 Tue 29 Z-Kaedah 1441H. Practically it was the 14-days quantum continuation of R-Q2 of R-Q1. Apart from the SOP of DISTANCING, TEMP and TRACING, life seemed to have returned to normal. Plus one concomitant outcome. The PRICE INCREASE of practically all of the household commodities.

In the Jul 8 Wed 16 Z-Kaedah 1441H KKM statement, the local infection was zero, but a few of imported. And the largest cluster of Seri Petaling was declared white after 28 days of infection free. The country is safe as long as the border is closed. Ironically, the pressure to open the border came from inside, not outside.

Jul 9 Thu 17 Z-Kaedah 1441H, DRVTGG in Nissan with NA. It was a nice drive with a minimum congestion, but a slight wet roads on reaching the Titiwangsa with the westbound terowong in SEMPAH was still closed, but minimum traffic. On the other hand the eastboud traffic was heavily congested after climbing the winding roads, just before the tunnels. Arriving in W-Tengah home, it was noted that our SAS era teacher, CheGu Ramli Ismail, has just passed on. CG Ramli was a teacher with pupils spanning all walks of life.

ALYA et al also returned home on the same day, arriving in the first hr of Jul 17 Fri. They stayed through out the weekend. Had it not been due to the MCO, it would have been a very merry weekend in Sg Merab home.

Jul 11 Sat 19 Z-Kaedah 1441H, a mission drive to Jerteh, NA's home. It was a wedding to attend at P-Panjang home.

And a quick visit to P-RIMAU to locate the borders in view of putting up the fence. It happened that a TOK LITOP in the lot was giving the fruits of quite descent quality.

Jul 13 Mon 21 Z-Kaedah 1441H, a DRVKUL, the morning after seeing Roslan Arshad for a uniza-nostalgia in the SHAKIRIN. It was a drizzling day. Coasted the beach-road, had a late b-fast in Batu-48 Dungun. And into LPT2 at Kerteh-Kemasek toll. It was dry from Gambang, cloudy. Temerloh RR was as busy as during non-MCO time. And again MRR2 was rather free from constipation.

Jul 15 Wed 23 Z-Kaedah 1441H, SB embarked on the 'epic' journey of HOMEWARDSBOUND, for good after 5y plus in Germany, since 2015 Mar. From Wed 7 am, Osnabruck-Frankfurt-Doha-KUL, 1-30 pm Jul 16 Thu. Nonetheless, the MCO had limited the welcoming-home to just CB dashing to KLIA to fetch when all the SOP were followed, after three hr landed, in total contrast to every time he was leaving. And required by MCO SOP for the citizen returnees, was HOME-QUARANTINED for fourteen days to Jul 29 Wed 8 Z-Hijjah 1441, with full KKM SOP. Alhamdulillah, a chapter covering a span of five years from Mar 2015 had completed been written.

Raya Haji In Q4 of MCO-Recovery - Far From Over

Dated 2020G Jul 31 Fri 10 Z-Hijjah 1441H

The Q4 of MCO-RECOVERY started Jul 22 Wed 1 Z-Hijjah 1441H, through to Aug 4 Tue 14 Z-Hijjah, followed the Q3 of MCO-RECOVERY which started Jul 8 Tue, ended Jul 21 Tue 29 Z-Kaedah 1441H. Practically it was the 14-days quantum continuation of R-Q2 of R-Q1.

The schools re-opened, fully, from Jul 22 Wed 1 Z-Hijjah 1441H, ostensibly with SOP of MCO. It was a hard time for the teachers to maintain the SOP.

On the ground it was rather an eerie state. New cases increased, initiated from import. KKM reverted the HOME-QUARANTINE back to CENTRE-QUARANTINE for those arriving from Jul 24. The media were talking about the so-called SECOND WAVE which had hit countries like Ostolia, and New Zealand, even to some extent China.

Jul 25 Sat 4 Z-Hijjah 1441H, DRVTGG with NA in TAV. From SG BESI, by MRR2 it was a clear drive even at BTS with the never-ending construction from Sg Besi. But at CHERAS congestion started. Through to KERAMAT. Many cars plus some slow haulers. Some congestion too at GOMBAK TOLL. Quite a number of cars. Both tunnels of Terowong SEMPAH were opened, so lessened the congestion. It was dry on LPT1, but rather wet on LPT2. Surprisingly on exit of LPT2 at Bukit Jong, the roads were very dry. Judging by the grass by the road side, coastal TRG was rainless for quite sometimes already.

Jul 26 Sun, DRV-JERTEH. The main mission was in P-RIMAU, to tag the trees that would not be deleted when the bulldozer is called to clean the Lots before erecting the fence. The DURIAN, in Tok Bugis and P-Panjangas, well as in P-Rimau were not guaranteed. Homewards, took to Tembila at Renek, passing the Tempinis Land, and cruising the beach road, including for the first time visited the BEACH OF BETING LINTANG. It has a lay out and scenery just like the Beach of Tok Jembal.

Jul 28 Tue 7 Z-Hijjah 1441H, DRVKUL in TAV, commencing after zohor, after NA had the meeting with KTS, and initially by the beach road. Took LPT2 at K DUNGUN toll. It was a congested-free DRV on all sectors, including in MRR2. Arrived at night to the waiting 3-beradik.

Jul 29 Wed was SB's 2-nd TEST. CB took him to KK-DENGKIL. In two hr the result was made known. NEGATIVE. Alhamdulillah. The agony of quarantine was over.

The next day, Jul 30 Thu 9 Z-Hijjah 1441H, I took SB to Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Sepang for the final procedure of the 14-DAY QUARANTINE. And the pink wristband was scissored-off, ending one big chapter for us, most especially for SB, a payoff for his endurance since 2015 Mar, with several thorny anecdotes in it.

Jul 27 Mon, the time with the sweet homes, including in Tok Jembal and Sepetir. The former was just a regular visit. The latter to keep an eye on the neighbour extension construction about which the workers set up their base on our site. But the most was in W-Tengah itself. The feral were too much, menacing even the plant pots on the g-floor. As the first response, made a strong walls of woods x-construction for the NYIOR-TEBU. Strong enough, a man could climb on it. Replanted another PISANG, also x-Tok Jembal.

Jul 31 Fri 10 Z-Hijjah 1441H - 2020G, the great day of R-HAJI 1441H. In the media, in Mekah, it was reported that the Haj was in a very restricted number of jemaah. Tabung Haji did not send any jemaah this year. For the first time since 2015, every one except one, was present at HOME in SG MERAB, including ALYA ET AL from JB, and especially SB who since then was in Germany.

Durian Time in the MCO-Recovery

Dated 2020G Aug 18 Tue 28 Z-Hijjah 1441H

The Q4 of MCO-RECOVERY was continuing to Aug 4 Tue 14 Z-Hijjah, following the Q3 of MCO-RECOVERY which started Jul 8 Tue, ended Jul 21 Tue 29 Z-Kaedah 1441H. Practically it was the 14-days quantum continuation of R-Q2 of R-Q1. And the Q5 of the MCO-RECOVERY continued on from Aug 5 Tue to Aug 18 Tue 28 Z-Hijjah 1441H.

Aug 7 Fri 17 Z-Hijjah 1441H, a visit to KETAPANG BAZAAR. It was opened partially as before, with MCO SOP. Fri in Masjid Telipot was fully MCO SOP compliance. In the while, CB-ASRI DRVTGG IN NISSAN, joining in W-TENGAH, arriving at night, making all 3-beradik, all 5-beranak in W-Tengah home.

The very first Aug engagement, Aug 1 Sat 11 Z-Hijjah 1441H, in Sect-8, BBBANGI. It was an engagement event.

Some spring cleaning were mounted, both in the backyard, and in the u-floor. In the backyard, it was the trees that needed to be pruned. In the u-floor, auditing. The nostalgic KITCHEN CABINET ex-BANGI, bought in 1983, was discarded.

Aug 4 Tue 14 Z-Hijjah 1441H, DRVTGG IN TAV 3-BERANAK WITH NA AND SB. It was the first POST-R-HAJI TRG-bound.

Aug 5 Wed 15 Z-Hijjah 1441H, DRV-JERTEH 3-BERANAK WITH NA AND SB, in TAV as well as in WIRA with all the tools including the mower. The orchard gave quite an unexpected produce, in particular it needed a mowing under the branches. NA acquired the assistance of HASHIR to help mowing the undergrowth in the critical area.

Aug 6 Thu 16 Z-Hijjah 1441H, stayed home in W-TENGAH, tended to the backyard, accepting the challenge of the feral by BOXING the plantlets. The boxes were made from the discarded plywoods used to make the moulds during the house construction. Apart from the BANANA, a cashew plantlet from NA's colleague PENDI of JABI was planted. The plantlet was taken once to Sg Merab, and back again to W-Tengah because that of W-Tengah did not survive.

Aug 8 Sat 18 Z-Hijjah 1441H, it was a small RU of PADANG MIDIN 6468 hosted by WAN MARIAM in her home in Seberang Bukit Tumbuh. The event were the 'girls'. In the top right img below, foreground R-L, Hasnah, Minah, Norias Embong, Azizah, Wan Mariam, Nafisah Che Kar, Hasmah Cik Mat, and Rohaniah. At the back R-L, Fatimah Suryani, Kalsom and Noriah Aziz. The 'boys' were accompany-ing. NA was very comfortable since she knew very well WM's son, the eldest. CB 3-beradik spent the Sat half-day visiting their grandma, and the maternal unties, all were in Tok Jembal.

Aug 9 Sun 19 Z-Hijjah 1441H, another ADVENTURE to TOK BUGIS, and 5-beranak. And ostensibly in Nissan and TAV. All were prepared for the outcome in the orchard. Plenty of DURIAN. Three new durian plantlets were planted. The chain-saw was deliberately taken along to clear some of the fallen branches. It was a fun day for the 3-beradik.

Aug 10 Mon 20 Z-Hijjah 1441H, DRVKUL 4-beranak in Nissan. NA stayed in TRG to accomplish her task with some moonlightees. It was a fast DRV, we made in less than six hr. Stopping only once in PAKA for all in one-stop, including refuelling. Arriving in the vicinity of 3, MRR2 was smoothly passable even at the massive never-ending construction spots.

With NA in TRG for her tasks, alternating in W-Tengah and Sepetir, life in Sg Merab was just like before NA conceding in 2018 May, but, 4-beranak with SB full time at home, who had been away-home in hostels since checking-in ASIS Bandar Tun Razak in 2011 Jan through to UiTM Puncak Alam 2013 May, INTAC-JPA Shah Alam 2013 Jun, and finally 2015 Mar Berlin, then 2015 Sep Osna, in Germany. It was a delight task to getting at home again, since arrival Jul 16 Thu, followed by 14 days of home quarantine. This include updating all his papers, and rejuvenating his room.

ex-W-Tengah from NA,

Aug 18 Tue 28 Z-Hijjah 1441H, DRVTGG, in Nissan with SB accompany-ing. The weather was fine in LPT1, but spotty drizzling in the east coast, the roads were wet. Gave the wheel to SB after Karak toll. He gave up after Jabor toll. Took the opportunity to take the JABOR-JERANGAU route. The road was not so excellence, a lot of patches, and the patches rotted faster than the base.

Determined Banana

Dated 2020G Aug 23 Sun 4 Muharram 1442H

The Q6 of MCO-RECOVERY continued seamlessly Aug 19 Wed 29 Z-Hijjah 1441H, from Q5 R-MCO of Aug 5 Wed to Aug 18 Tue 28 Z-Hijjah 1441H. Q4 of MCO-RECOVERY Aug 4 Tue 14 Z-Hijjah, following the Q3 of MCO-RECOVERY which started Jul 8 Tue, ended Jul 21 Tue 29 Z-Kaedah 1441H. Practically it was the 14-days quantum continuation of R-Q2 of R-Q1. The R-MCO-Q6 was supposedly the last quantum of the Covid combat, since last Mar 18.

While on return, Tok Jembal house got a 'servicing'. And in W-Tengah, all plantlets were box-protected from the feral.

Aug 23 Sun 4 Muharram 1442H, DRV-JERTEH 3-beranak in TAV for miscellaneous matters. Returned with three plantlet of PISANG KELAT the type for the LEAVES, not the fruit. And planted immediately on arrival at home in W-TENGAH, just before dark. They would be box-ed in the next return if they survive the feral menaces.

Strolling Bandar, two times. One, Aug 19 Wed 29 Z-Hijjah 1441H, and two, Aug 22 Sat 3 Muharram 1442H.

It Takes One Lamb For the Full House

Dated 2020G SEP 1 TUE 13 Muharram 1442H

Aug 24 Mon 5 Muharram 1442H, DRVKUL 3-beranak in Nissan with NA and SB. As planned, TAV was left in TRG. Both traffic and weather were favourable, throughout both LPT2 and LPT1, and MTD too, and even MRR2. KL through to Sg Merab were dry when we arrived, still in zohor.

The Q6 of MCO-RECOVERY was continuing to Sep 1 Tue 13 Muharram 1442H. But with nearly 200 covid-positive in the treatment isolation, and local occurrence still popping up, it was rumoured that the R-MCO is going to be extended. And truly, Aug 28 Fri PM announced the extension up to Dec 31.

Aug 29 Sat 10 Muharram 1442H, a 'LAMB-ING' gathering among family members in Sg Merab home. It was ZIDNI's AIDAN second head aqiqah. All were present, including ALYA et al from JB, but one, MUNIF, in SSAS hostel in Putrajaya. NA cooked the major portion of the aqiqah, and the lesser, the soup, by POKJO. Others topped up with accs. Ank-beranak pooled their effort in making the event passed unhitched.

And the next day Aug 30 Sun, a strolling in THE LAKE PUTRAJAYA. The Aug 31 Mon was Malaysia break day, the MERDEKA-63, but being in MCO-R, no celebration parade was organised.

Dear Sg Buah, and Sg Merab

Dated 2020G Sep 15 Tue 27 Muharram 1442H

MCO-RECOVERY was extended to the end of the year Dec 31 Thu. The Q6 which ended Sep 1 Tue still has ca 200 positives in the isolation wards. Q5, Q4, Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 just passed by. Current R-MCO was justly termed the Q7 which started Sep 2 Wed and for fourteen days quantum ends Sep 15 Tue 27 Muharram 1442H. And at least seven more quantums to go.

Sep 2 Wed 14 Muharram 1442H, DRVTGG in Nissan with NA, bye-ing CB-SB-ASRI 3-beradik. ALYA 4-beranak were also bye-ed, but they would make a move to Semenyih the following day before eventually return to JB Sep 6 Sun. It was a fine DRV, both traffic- and weather-wise. It was some skirmish rain on LPT2, some section of the road was wet, especially in Dungun area. However when we reach home in W-Tengah everything showed that it had not been raining for quite sometime already.

Sep 8-9 Tue-Wed, home sweet home W-TENGAH and TOK JEMBAL. It was decided that the optimal efforts would be to embark on banana. Anti-feral boxes were made. But when on leave in KUL the bananas were deprived of the essential water. The PISANG NANGKA in Tok Jembal was the first serious harvest since residing in the place in 2012.

Sep 3 Thu, NA had a field day in CT, in a full regalia. Sep 4 Fri, Home Sweet Home in W-Tengah, including a stroll in Ketapang Bazaar on Fri morning.

Sep 5 Sat, RU-2 of Padang Midin SPM 67/68 in DITC Kijal. ABCD hosted with his guest CG Wan Chik who was his relative, a teacher in Padang Midin from 1967 when I have left for SAS. Ca 70 turned up, the alumni and their spouse, and some with their children too, not as many as in RU-1 in AWANA Kijal in 2017. But it was a very close gathering.

Sep 6-7 Sun-Mon, DRV-JERTEH, two consecutive days, paying attention to both P-Rimau and T-Bugis. The former clearing off to install a new fence with a corrected position. And the latter to clear off the fallen dead branches, and to harvest to fruits whatever available.

Sep 10 Thu, DRVKUL with NA in TAV. Nissan was made on leave in W-Tengah. The weather appeared fine, but cloudy. It rained from Kijal onwards, and scattered drizzlingly. Took both LPT-1, and -2. Singgah PAKA for a refreshment, and refuelling. A washroom in Karak. Another refuelling in Paya Serai Shell. And it was wet in KL. Congestion from Taman Melati construction to Flamingo, then again in BTS. It was a flash flood in KL in the evening, could have been trapped if arrived a little bit later.

MCO had bitten a bit our routine. Jumaat in MPI, since the first in Sep was given priority to its own population. Last week Fri Sep 4, while I was in Masjid Telipot, TRG, CB-3-beradik rushed to Masjid Mustaqim B-Baginda when they were refused entry in Masjid MPI. So, Fri Sep 11, we went to Masjid Sg Merab. The new Masjid. And that was the first time being there. Before Masjid MPI was built, we went to Masjid Sg Merab Tengah, the original. When the new Masjid was built, the old masjid was downgraded to Surau. Unsure, whether MCO had or had not forced it to be re-upgraded to Masjid again because during MCO, the SOP had made all Masjid to hold only half capacity, and funnily, beyond the wall was not allowed.

Sep 14 Mon 26 Muharram 1442H, a historic 'junction'. Early in the morning, a w-msg saying that SAS HB-1971 who succeeded me, Raja Danial, passed a way this morning. NA and SB and I went to JABAT TANAH Salak Tinggi. And voila! the land of Sg Merab was settled. The individual title was gazetted out. Then made the Search for the land in Sg Buah. It was there, and last year 2019 there was transection taking place on the one-third portion of Jamlus in a tarekah. And NA invoked that the Wan Mohamed portion be caveated to alert Jabat Tanah that there is an unfinished transection. We visited Sg Buah OTW home. It was a jungle now. But that was meant no intruder.

P-RIMAU

Dated 2020G Sep 25 Fri 7 Safar 1442H

MCO-RECOVERY, the eighth quantum, R-MCO-Q8 commenced Sep 16 Wed. It continued from the seventh R-Q7. The R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 just passed by. Currently nearly 700 positives were in the isolation wards.

Sep 24 Thu 6 Safar 1442H, DRVTGG with NA. The last time DRVKUL was Sep 10 Thu. It was a favourable weather, and traffic too, even in MRR2. We closely made the bench-mark of 45-min Sg Merab - Gombak toll. Took the break only in Temerloh RR. Both LPT1 and 2 were dry. Arriving in TRG, popped-in SEPETIR, and TOK JEMBAL to note that all were in order. Finally, HOME in W-TENGAH. WIRA and NISSAN stood waiting. Noted the progress of the NEBOR house. Ready paket, and the beam mould were aligned. Noted the plantlets. Especially PISANG. All were protected, but rather dry. The soil was dry, perhaps no rain for the past few days. A VERY WINDY TORRENTIAL RAIN, just after the workers at NEBORLAND left.

Sep 25 Fri 7 Safar 1442H, a visit to Ketapang Fri morning bazaar for the kitchen sundries. And getting ready for a DRV-JERTEH to see the progress of the P-RIMAU border-fencing.

Sep 16 Wed 28 Muharram 1442H, was MALAYSIA DAY, and was a Malaysia break. But MCO made the usual grandest celebration non-happening, as it did the last Aug 31 Mon 12 Muharram 1442H which was also a Malaysia break. In the evening ank2 gathered for a kari-jenahak. All were in, except ALYA et al in JB, Munif and Edi were out station.

Sep 17 Thu, NA had a field day in the PALACE of JUCTICE, Putrajaya. A briefing on some sort of system filing. And a quick posing in front of the landmark.

A week that followed was a home-sweet-home in Sg Merab. Sep 23 Wed 5 Safar 1442H, ALYA et al made an unscheduled return from JB, apparently to attend Farhan's father who was not well.

Five Years Ago, Sep 26 Sat

Dated 2020G Sep 30 Wed 12 Safar 1442H

The eighth quantum, R-MCO-Q8 of MCO-RECOVERY, which commenced Sep 16 Wed appeared did not asymtoting the infection. In fact the infection was brewing. In Sabah especially. And Sabah PRN Sep 26 Sat was like pouring petrol on fire. The infection from Sabah clusters returned to the peninsular. From Sep 28 Mon, all travellers from Sabah were treated as from overseas. A two weeks quarantine after a test at the airport. The seventh R-Q7, the R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1 just passed by. Currently ca a thousand positives were in the isolation wards, nearly the same number as when the MCO was enforced in Mar.

Sep 26 Sat 8 Safar 1442H, was our 5-TH ANNIVERSARY. The celebration was in the DRV-JERTEH. Seeing P-RIMAU on the way to being fenced. Visited TOK BUGIS. And finally in P-PANJANG climbing-plucking DUKU, the fruit of the time. Ended the day with a meal in FATIRAH-2 before coasting back to W-Tengah.

In the while, a quick rendz with old friends, Roslan, and Dr Abdullah and Dr Fakhrul.
