Yang DiPertua Majlis Perbandaran Kelang (Dated June 1998)

While in town, 2007 May 8 Tue, I had the opportunity to pay a short visit to a 1970 oldie SAS-ian, I have not met since: the city of Kuala Lumpur Mayor, Datuk Abdul Hakim Borhan. Got him at the ten minutes he had after zohor prayer through a constant buddy Mohd Embong in the same DBKL. In that ten minutes 'reunion' we were talking more of the future than the past. 2007 is the retiring year for us, those born 1951. Soon we will stop blinking on the radar screen a piece at a time, and slowly will lose each other. A few 'lucky enough' would nonetheless keep the sq for a couple of years more.

Hakim was a bona fide school boarder in the 1970's years in Sekolah Alam Shah (SAS). A prefect, and very active in the field extra-curriculum. Very obidient, and accomplished all the task given. Satisfactorily. Had he checked-in 1967, instead of 1969, he could had been the HB. Hakim could have made CheGu Ghazali kept his idea to himself for quite a while, and I were not known to him then.

Hakim was born a manager. His name, his character to as much as I know in 1970's, and his posture. A friend who always wanted to be with, and always put a friend at his place. I was not lucky enough to be his constant friend after 1970 frolic in SAS. He is the Hakim Borhan, even today 2007 May 8, thirty seven years apart.
