Pre-Shawal

Dated 2016G Jul 5 Tue 30 Ramadan 1437H

A rare overnight in P-Panjang on Jul 1 Fri, the night of 27-th of Ramadan, where in the Masjid An-Nur a string of ibadah filled the whole night from iftar which I skipped in order to have it at P-Panjang home, the teraweh which I joined, through the mid-night, Qiyamullail to the morning after. And again on Jul 3 Sun, joining iftar in Jerteh among NA's staff in FATIRAH-2 of NYIOR TUJUH.

Jul 4 Mon, DRVKUL, with NA, was rather a mission, since it was in TAV, which NA said the first time the car is taken to KUL, and the first time NA to spend the anecdotal moment of Shawal not only not with her mother (as well as her other brothers and sister) but also with my family. Far away from the land where she was born and grew up and lived her life.

Online-wise, it was very quiet. Only Dr Aziz, and En Wan Musa PM-ed. Unlike last year, and the years before, the line were busy with well-wishers, old acquaintances, long lost friends, etc, even few days before shawal. Well it's natural, old times are fading away, together with its content, especially the irrelevant interests, and non-common denominators, being replaced with new times, and new contents.

Shawal 1437

Dated 2016G Jul 12 Tue 7 Shawal 1437H

The Shawal 1437H was on Jul 6 Wed, after 30 days of Ramadan, a rare Ramadan which is usually 29 days, which was in some other places, one was in Germany where 1-st Shawal was on Jul-5 Tue as commn-ed by SB. This Shawal is pivotal, anecdotal, and fateful to many of us. This was the First EID for NA in the family, and in the family home in SG MERAB.

The residence in uphill is named TAMAN DESA UTAMA (TDU). They have managed to built a SURAU, and started since the first Ramadan 060616 (my format 160606). So this SHAWAL we have the Solat idul-fitr at the Surau, a walking distance away, instead of the usual MPI or UNITEN mosque. Incidentally MALINI et al spent the EVE and the night in HQ, as though balik-kampong, and thus joined the Solat. RUBY et al was in TGG already since Sun, and Muzani in Penang from Sat the day before. Zidni was around in the eve, and again the Shawal evening, and put up.

We were visited by DR ZAINI-SHAM who apparently had a diplomatic invitation for their son wedding in early Dec saying that Alya would visit her for a solace whenever she feel missing her mother. Followed by a swarm of my late brother's sons and daughters and their sons and daughters. The only visit we made was to DR JAMIL in Sect 3 BB Bangi.

Shawal-2, Thu, on insistence of ALYA, we drove back to Terengganu, 5-beranak, to spend the rest of the raya break. RUBY was in TGG already since Sun before Shawal and put up in her Grandma's place in PAYA DATU, and the place where we first stopped when we arrived, in trying hard to reconfigure the life of my children, post-perturbation of the tragic incidence of 2010 Jun.

Shawal-3 Fri was very hectic. A preparation and set up in the morning including a visit 5-beranak to Prof Hadi in the Golf Resort. After Jumaat was perhaps the peak of this year Shawal. The first RENDZ with EN SHUKUR, all the way from BERANANG. And with NA full participation, a pre-arrangement was solemnised. When they left, rushed to Golf Resort again to present at UMT NC open house, seeing SALFORD buddy, PROF AMIN, and later joined by PROF AZMI. As the sun set, I managed to join my simblings in PUSU TIGA, ANI's place.

Shawal-4 Sat was another hectic day. PROF HADI gathered his siblings, and close friends at his place in Golf Resort. I met Dr Amin UDM-UNISZA, and had an update of the current s.q. Later, some of NA's nephews and nieces, including ABG-MURAD-KAK-ZIE visited us in Tok Jembal. On the same late afternoon, ALYA-CB-ASRI returned to KUL, 3-beradik in Nissan to catch the school day on Mon.

I made the visit to P-Panjang, accompany-ing NA on Shawal-5 Sun. Day return. With that the Raya break subsided to routine. NA returned to her routine, commuted to her office in Jerteh whenever there are no case in CT. I stayed a few days more in TGG before returning to KUL.

Post-Shawal

Dated 2016G Jul 16 Sat 11 Shawal 1437H

I stayed in TGG to the end of the week, accompany-ing NA. Jul 10 Sun 5 Shawal, at sun-set, en route homewards ex-Jerteh, I drove into KUZA campus via Post-2, sending NA's niece to Block-E of the hostel. That was the first time I went in after my non-extension in 2014 Feb-mid. The two F-guards were just inert. Another F-guard at Post-1 on the way out a few minutes later gave a salam as though she knew me. I'm not sure, it was rather dark, it was at sun-set, and the sky was rather cloudy. Noted the PTM that was converted to Chancellory, and also some of the infra changes along the route, the most visible were those related to water drainage which supposedly would solve the flooding problem during the monsoon time. But I could stop the ticking mind of once the AL-HAMBRA craze, the idea of which had duped many KUSA-ans at the early stage.

Shawal 8 is also known as Raya-6. It was Jul 13 Wed, and normally the day is used to gather around the graveyard, cleaning, and tidy-ing the compound. I went to one in Kalang Arang, next to my home-birth place. And with a help from JUSOH MOKTEH CHAN, I managed to locate the grave of my father, incidentally only ca 2 m away from that of my mother. Jusoh said, even though he wasn't there at the time of burial in 1972 Mar 18 Sat, he remembered well the large stone tomb.

Shawal ending was marked with a DRVKUL, with a break of an overnight in Kuantan Bandar Indera Mahkota Jul 13 Wed for a NA's case the following day Jul 14 Thu, after which, WIRA took us back to KUL. We just missed the LPT2 INAUGURAL TOLL COMMENCEMENT Jul 15 Fri.

NA stayed full day in Sg Merab only on Jul 15 Fri, in the morning of which we had b-fast in Teras Jernang roti-canai with PROF NORDIN of Unisza FIK who was on a matter in KPT. The next day, first thing in the morning Jul 16 Sat, NA flew back to TGG to resume her routine.

And in the evening, I tagged RUBY et al, otherwise all anak-cu2, in going to BANDAR SRI PUTRA, attending the open house of DATO' SRI ARIEF, whose family from morning to evening are our next-neighbour in SG MERAB. All our life, DATIN was a very supportive neighbour when it comes to our gathering. And thus while at home, I obliged to make it this time. We were there until the sun was setting.

The place, is a better residential area, the shopping areas are planned and sectioned for a peaceful living of the residence, less packed, unlike BB BANGI where the shopping areas are scattered at wish of the money-makers, at some areas dotted with factories and industries, which in most cases unbearably annoying the residence around.

Back to the Backyard

Dated 2016G Jul 31 Sun 26 Shawal 1437H

Perhaps the urgent one was this roof tiles, which stalled for nearly two months already, since before RAMADAN. First it was the shortage of the replacement tiles, the HUME RANCH, the production of which had long stopped. Some of the tiles were broken due to uncarefulness during their fixing, they fall to the ground and broke into pieces. A search around Kajang was met with futile. I searched in TGG as well, and the result was the same. I just imagined that in some h-ware there are pieces of old stock, after all I needed ca ten pcs only. Well, thirty years stuff was not old stock, it's ancient. But not with the Monier. It was my short-sighted decision when this house was built in 1986, to use Hume rather than the most contemporary Monier.	In the while, the backyard of the house in SG MERAB needed to be tended to, as always RAMADAN had slowed a bit the routine. But it was rather tricky, it rained almost every evening during the second half of Jul. The rambutan, dokong, langsat, even chempedak, all flowered since before Ramadan, but, they were all not our rezeki. They were for the hanuman-langurs and the squirrels.
	NA was in TGG since Jul 16 Sat of that weekend. It was a rather long away. She returned to SG MERAB Jul 29 Fri morning, alas, for the weekend. But a fully packed weekend for all of us. Dinner in MALINI's place on Fri night, b-fast in RUBY's place on Sat morning, a walimah in a UKM hall in the afternoon, of an ex-colleague whose daughter is ALYA's close buddy since secondary school days, and dinner in MUZANI's place at night, skipping two of the kind on the same Sat afternoon. NA had her KIK Alumni gathering in ILIM, Bangi on Sun morning, Jul 31. And in the afternoon on MHKULTGG, thus missing the MANDY LAMB in BEDUL's place 3084 in the evening. JUL ended with four days of Shawal residues.

A Ticking August

Dated 2016G Aug 9 Tue 6 Z-Kaedah 1437H

ALYA started a full time job in MAS, in the onboard supply quality team, from Aug 1 Mon, albeit on one year contract, perhaps the modern approach to the traditional probation.

CB was engaged by his ex-LI-boss of TERATO to help in setting up iFOON repair kiosk, starting Aug 8 Mon in Sect-3, after a two days rapport in the near weekend before that.

NA returned home in Sg Merab on the weekend of Aug 4-6. And on my turn, I returned to TGG, Aug 10-19.

No one picked up the info that was very glaring in the posting. The memory, and the speed, the task it supposedly performed, compared to the current lap-top that almost every student has.

The Toll and The Memories

Dated 2016G Aug 19 Fri 16 Z-Kaedah 1437H

I drove back to TGG, Aug 11 Wed - albeit in WIRA, for the first time since LPT2 was tolled last month. For that I reverted to the old Jabor-BktBesi route, my weekly weekend return route 2007-2013, that would save ca 15 rm, re-noting the landmarks of Chenih, the bends, and Muktafi. Bkt Besi to KTRG has no alternative because the old road passes many busy residential areas. And all that, I still made within the bench-mark of 6-hr.	During which I attended a gathering of Family Day of TGG Lawyers in Pekan, Pahang, accompanying NA. CB-ASRI joined from KUL. ALYA just started her MH career, and could not make it. It was an exotic drive KTRG-KUANTAN-PEKAN, and return along the beach route, invoking all the memories since 1967 when I first ventured out of TRG to KUL, in the middle of the changes that had erased all those landmarks along the route.
	And twice being in JERTEH, seeing the much neglected NA's orchard, for possibility of any produce. It was, but very little. The plot needed a much love, care, and attention, at least of a man. The old trees, especially the durian which perhaps had passed on to two generations already. The undergrowth that has to be trimmed and pruned from time to time. Nourishment was indeed in need, thus far all depend on the rotting organic undergrowth for the replenishment. Poking the intellectual minds on the fate of rubber industry, recalling my contention of revolutionise the plantation into an indoor biotech chemogation.

Aug 18 Thu, I started the drive back to KUL, taking NA along, harbouring in Kemaman, and then on the following day Fri in Kuantan for her matter in CT. But in FB, I left the trails a few more img of as though I was still in TGG. The Pulau Kapas, and mini-gathering in the new place of Dr Abdullah Sipat in DAPO PATA.

The Place Stayed Never Changed

Dated 2016G Aug 26 Fri 23 Z-Kaedah 1437H

NA had only the weekend to spend in Sg Merab, during which Aug 20 Sat, we sat down again with EN SHUKUR, four of us in a BB BANGI cafe. Discoursing. This was the second time, enforcing and fortified the points in the previous first discourse which was on recent Shawal 2 in Tok Jembal. The img below was captured in Sg Ular Aug 18 Thu, on DRVKUL with an overnight in Indera Mahkota. In many pasar-malam, this business is still alive.

Aug 26 Fri, it was the time for a DRVTGG again. And like before, skipped LPT2 toll from Jabor to Bukit Besi. It was raining in the east coast. All the way in Kemaman region, of monsoon type, and drizzling in Dungun. It was dark in KTRG, the roads were wet. And stayed just for the weekend.

Uncelebrated Revisit

Dated 2016G SEP 1 Thu 29 Z-Kaedah 1437H

While in TRG, I dropped by in PASAR PAYANG Aug 27 Sat after so long had not been there. The place was being proposed to be brought down, but not sure where's the new one. But the most, glaringly, the place was not a favourite any more, by locals, or visitors. Sat was usually the peak day. It was used to be called "HARI CHEGU" because most teachers came out on Sat for shopping. There was no more attractions. The fish stalls were almost deserted. Local produces were dispersed on the near-drains. And the legal vacant sites on the g-floor were uncountable. The u-floor, where the batiks were, was silence like no occupiers. A few 'TEKSI' were still there. Throughout my visit, I saw only one moving with a passenger, other were in parking-waiting for passengers. The merchandises in the stalls tends to stereotype. Every stall sells the same thing, especially the sea-products, and from the same suppliers-makers. And in huge quantities with a very little variation. Nearly all the PAYANG characteristics had disappeared. Aug 29 Mon I drove to Kemaman with NA for her case in the CT, and overnight in AWANA Kijal, which was rebranded into RESORT WORLD. Although my last visit here was in 2013 Feb while still holding a newly born PTj in UNISZA, the most memorable staying here was in 2010 Feb 28. But what had happened four months later after this gathering, had made myself that today revisit was the uncelebrated one. I strolled the beach again, but was quickly pulled over, instead I took NA to the interior of the KIJAL PINGITAN by the hill, bringing the memories of the 60-s and 70-s that she missed the experience when all those changed into the current 'geography'. In the Resort World was just an overnight, the next day Aug 30 Tue, we resumed the homeward-bound drive to KUL. I had a job to accomplish Aug 31 Wed.

Aug 31 Tue was another day, an official continuation of last post-shawal occasion in Tok Jembal, a step onwards. This time with a bigger team, and conversely, in the presence and cooperation of all my children, especially the grownups, except of course SB, who's in Germany. Alhamdulillah, all were facilitated. Dipermudahkan Allah subhanahuwataala..

A Year is Coming

Dated 2016G Sep 9 Fri 7 Z-Hijjah 1437H

The talk-of-the town furniture store, its second outlet in Cheras. Be there, taking NA along, for the first time. Made ASRI to tag along, ALYA too, although she's very familiar with the first outlet in Damansara. NA left for TRG on Sep 3 Sat.

Sep 4 Sun, I took CB and ASRI to Walimah of ZAID in Masjid Salehuddin Al Ayubi in Taman Melati, close to Gombak. I met many MOKTEH-PAH's children after, since quiet sometimes already. However, without MakTeh-Pah, life was not the same again.

After which we had an ICT frolic in LOW YAT, arriving and leaving the place by cruising through the middle of the city. CB's making a DESKTOP, to replace the Mac-Mini which had been many months in the 'garage', and unheard of its fate.

And before dark, I rushed to Hotel BANGI-PUTRAJAYA (ex EQUATORIAL) to attend the LOT 3082 matters being discoursed with surveyors. It was a merry meeting, but a procrastination is at our short term advantage.

In the while I managed, after failed by e-sewa many times since mid Aug, to secure the Dewan Tun Abdullah Salleh of UKM, and POKMAN Catering for the event scheduled to be held 2017 Sep 9 Sat, that would be preceded by Sep 8 Fri afternoon. The rest of the week was rather leisure, count down the days for the Raya Haji, early next week, tentatively to be spent in TRG again. A discoursing with children, the return would be by land, since as always, by air it was too expensive. Some of the elder children were thinking of spending in TGG too. QURBAN was at the pivot.

10 Zulhijjah 1437

Dated 2016G Sep 15 Thu 13 Z-Hijjah 1437H

	The drive back to TGG for the RAYA HAJI was on Sep 10 Sat 8 Z-Hijjah 1437H, in the morning, 4-beranak, with ALYA, CB, and ASRI, in both WIRA and NISSAN. NA was in TGG already, standing by. Zidni et al joined, but he started in the afternoon. MUZANI et al, and MALINI et al, were scheduled to join later. Muzani and Zidni have a share of Qurban with ANI. But at last minute all have to put off due to their children unwell. RUBY have a share too, but could not make home as well since the beginning. The drive was a nightmare of the usual festival days. We started at 1030 in the morning. It took 2.5 h to reach Gombak toll, which on usual day, only 45 min. Another 1.5 h to Paya Serai which usually take only 35 min. The Q in a fast-food was more than 1 h. And ironically, the traffic was very clear from Bentong onwards. Another nightmare was the 1-h plus Q at the exit toll in Bukit Jong, which made the whole DRVTGG this time more than 12 hr, arriving at 1045 pm, twice the usual bench-mark of 6 h. By then, NA was already in bed. The total LPT2 toll is 24rm. I skipped the Jabor-Bukit Besi by taking the free-way, of the same distance and the same time, paying only 860 sen from Bukit Besi to Bukit Jong. In all-tolled road, from Sg Merab to Tok Jembal would be 3+6+3+21+24=57rm. Which is the same as the MH ticket on early morning or night flight on a quiet day.

The EID ADZHA was on Sep 12 Mon. Apart from the 3-beradik, ZIDNI et al were in Tok Jembal since Sun. QURBAN was the pivot. Thus, first thing in the morning Sep 12 Mon, I rushed NA to Jerteh to join her sibling. In the while Zidni et al, and the 3-beradik carried in from Tok Jembal, and joined in Jerteh in late afternoon. We got together again in Tok Jembal in the evening. ALYA-CB left for KUL on the same day Sep 12 Mon since the next day Tue, both had to resume the work.
	Zidni et al left for KUL on Sep 14 Wed late morning, ASRI decided to tag along back to KUL. NA and I left for KUL on Sep 15 Thu evening. Intuitively, all these three DRV were in non-congestive periods. The 6-h bench-mark were attained, unlike SENTUL-GOMBAK-BENTONG agony of last Sat KUL-TGG.

The Anniversary

Dated 2016G Sep 22 Thu 20 Z-Hijjah 1437H

IDUL ADZHA is our H-anniversary. And 1437 is the first (2016 Sep 14 Wed). The ground-state event was 1436H Zulhijjah 12 Sat, 2015 Sep 26. The celebration was rather in situ, literally, in Tok Jembal, in the absence of children. A pre-DRVKUL together in Nissan.

WADIE WVP had been hard in trying to get my portrait translated by his finger-pencil-brush. This was his third time. The first was Feb 19, and the second was very recent, Sep 8.

In the while in the backyard, get WAK-NAS pruned the trees so that it would not be too high. It would be some times for them to re-brach and start to blossom, and bear fruit again.

And also noted that the survey-ing to 'pecah-gran' of LOT 3082 started. The final outcome may not be of the advantageous.

Agro-Herbal - HERBALLURGY

Dated 2016G Sep 30 Fri 28 Z-Hijjah 1437H

Sep 23 Fri 21 Z-Hijjah 1437H, a DRVTGG, solo. And stayed for the weekend and the weekdays to Sep 28 Wed. Sep 24 Sat, I popped up in MANIR where I had missed many Saturdays during the past year. The last time visited, I noted that it was not as merry as it used to be a traditional market-place. On the same Saturday NA hosted a mini-reunion of her KIK, and UM buddies, TRG-Chapter, plus some of her contemporary colleagues. Being around Tok Jembal, the postings were naturally rather agro-herbal.

The return DRVKUL was on Sep 29 Thu, with NA, taking into the MALAYSIA BREAK of AWAL MUHARRAM, on Oct 2 Sun, the day she had to return to TGG, and by MH on ALYA's concessional rate - for the first time since she embarked in MH Aug 1.

In the while, the back-yard in Sg Merab was pruned to make the tree less tall, hoping the new branches that would grow out would be more manageable, especially during the harvesting, if a luck strike.
