2019G Diary

Come October

Dated 2019G Oct 10 Thu 11 Safar 1441H

Started the Oct, continuing in Sg Merab home. And when possible, the morning brisk-walking accompany-ing NA in Taman Tasik Chempaka.

And on Oct 7 Mon, for the first time, strolling the new PASAR PAYANG. It was opened some months ago. The canopy section on both sides of the new market indicated that many issues are yet to be solved. The old one was seen being demolished, and those at the foot of Bukit Puteri were being rennovated. It was drizzling.

House-wise, the spaces where the surplus woods were kept were managed. The spaces were reclaimed for car parking. The woods were relocated and tidy-ed. A lot were still usable. Nonetheless the surplus steels were yet to be solved. Of late the 'wild cattle' were more menacing than the feral. For the moment the back side of the house perimeter were temporarily fenced.

Oct 4 Fri, DRVTGG, with a pause in UIA Gombak the first half of the day for NA's matter on the MOOTING COMPETITION. Setoff early for the meeting at 10, bye-ing CB-ASRI. Surprisingly the traffic on MRR2 was very light, non-constipating at all from Bangi right to UIA Gombak. In contrast to the opposite direction, the constriction was in BTS-SG-BESI MRT construction, the Q was all the way to AKLEH junction. This was the first time I'm in UIA Gombak since its opening in 1995, ex-PJ Section 16, ex-UKM FPI since 1978 BANGI. Admittedly the campus is elegant, very elegant, and more with the presence of a wide spectrum of international students.

Setoff DRVTGG after Jumaat in UIA Gombak. Both LPT1 and LPT2 were pleasing. Traffic were light, and the weather was fine, haze-less, and sunny. Home in W-Tengah at early night.

Oct 5 Sat, with NA, strolling MANIR BAZAAR. Not been in Manir for quite sometimes already. Nonetheless noted that the 'native' sellers were still around, who many of them I took notes. But the fish section dwindled to largely small fish mostly selayang, indicating the shrinking of number of local fishermen. At night reminded ASRI to go to bed early for the Semester Exam which started the next day Oct 6 Sun, five papers in two-weeks period, ending Oct 17 Thu.

The Torrent in October

Dated 2019G Oct 24 Thu 25 Safar 1441H

Oct 11 Fri, DRVKUL, hiking Dr Abdullah Sipat at near mid-day. NA and TAV stayed in TRG, she has a few important matters to sort within the week to come. In a rare opportunity, coasted the old rakyat route from Bukit Besi through to Jabor, taking the Indera Mahkota bypass to the Kuantan-KL original route, to Maran and finally Temerloh, in the late evening when we reached. The rest of the drive was on LPT1. The rain as we closed the Titiwangsa. Gombak-Bangi on MRR2 was so heavily congested, and extended to PLUS southwards. The roads were wet.

Oct 16 Wed 17 Safar 1441H, at night SB arrived, as always, ex-Dubai ex-Dusseldorf. It was a cold night, 3-beranak with CB and ASRI, he was fetched, and home. Muzani, Malini welcomed at home. It's not his home-for-good. Instead it's for his INTERN in BIRO VERITAS, Denai Alam, after a year of attempting in agony to make it in Germany. 2019 was his most trying year.

Oct 20 Sun, we made a scouting trip to Denai Alam, where SB would undergo his INTERN. Noted some of the logistic parameters, the MRT, the bus route, and the trip times, even the possibility of renting a room in the vicinity. And finally, a seal with a meal of AL-YEMEN in ARYAF, in the area which we unintentionally arrived. The vicinity of SEGI UNIVERSITY, Kota Damansara.

SB INTERN, started Oct 21 Mon. It was not impossible to commute from Sg Merab to Denai Alam where the operation is taking place. The whole trip takes 2-3 hrs, initially on MRT from KAJANG to KWASA CENTRAL, then on feeder bus to the Intern Site, ca 15 km away, which formed the most unreliable timing, taking as long as 45 min depending on the road traffic which weaves with a lot of constructions islands. On this very first day he left home 6-30 and home at 9 which was not un-ordinary for the KL-dwellers. Further refining it was shown that the morning could be accomplished in just 2 hr including the bus ride, but excluding the trip from home to MRT Kajang. The quest didn't exclude the opportunity to rent a room in the vicinity, which would save a lot the travelling time. And that was exactly the optimum option to be persued.

Oct 18 Fri, NA AK-returned home. 4-beranak went to KLIA2 to fetch, and sealed with a dinner in QUIZINN. At home, Ruby et ank2 were welcoming.

At home on returning from Denai Alam, Muzani et al were waiting with a catch of fish from his weekend fishing trip in Penang. It took the rest of the evening, processing to frozen-store them. Almost every one gathered for a small feast.

Oct 22 Tue 23 Safar 1441H, Alya et al arrived home at w-hr. She has two days to Wed to attend a course in UKM UNIPAQ.

The Monsoon Knocked the Door

Dated 2019G Oct 31 Thu 3 R-Awal1441H

Oct 26 Sat, one WALIMAH in PKNS, that of Dato Ahmad Yaacob, a junior SAS-ian, and a neighbour in Sg Merab. It was the wedding of his son. PKNS was so dwarf now, compared to its neighbouring towering buildings. At the beginning, in late 1980's, it was the landmark in the Section of BBBANGI.

NA AK-returned to TGG, Oct 28 Mon noon, to deal with matters in TRG. TAV was in TRG already. Had b-fast 5-beranak in Quizinn. Homewards, detoured to IOI, CB had a matter. MON was SELANGOR et al break, replacement of yesterday DEEPAVALI.

SB had liaised well with the logistic he's comfortable with, in the first week of the intern, from home in Sg Merab, on MRT Kajang-Kwasa, and on the feeder bus/Grab to the Intern site in Denai Alam. And reversed. The whole trip took an average 2h 20-min. It's long, but not uncomfortable, except the trip on the bus which sometimes had to opt to the Grab alternative.

Nonetheless he opted to rent a room in a nearby apartment, with his colleagues. That would save a lot the travelling time. He checked in Oct 28 Mon evening, in PANGSAPURI TERATAI complex in TAMAN BUKIT SUBANG, sharing with his colleagues. The place is ca 30-min walk to the intern place. It's lower middle class area, but well kept area. Masjid Al-Mahdi is very close by, and ironically another surau is even closer. It was his second week of intern. He has twelve weeks to acomplish the task, and thus far contented.

Between Two Mosques

Dated 2019G Nov 5 Tue 8 R-Awal1441H

Nov 1 Fri, DRVTGG, solo in WFV. The hub of the monstrous traffic construction in Sg Besi, caused the late morning heavy congestion. Clear the rest of MRR2. Deliberated in taking the non-h-way route from Karak to Temerloh. Break for jumaat in Maran. Then took LPT1 to have a break in Gambang RR. Exited at Jabor to resume the 're-adventure' with a full JJA, to K Nerus, even passing Manir. Weather-wise it was fine in Pahang, cloudy, but not rainy. In JJA it was a heavy rain in the middle. K TRG was rainless, but the wet roads indicated its post-rain. The monsoon was around the corner.

Nov 4 Mon, a quick strolling in Kedai Payang. Not particularly after anything. And had a meal in MOK NGOH of Jln Sultan Omar, the eating place of the KOTA time pre-KUZA 2011.

Noted that later at night, CB 3-beradik drove to JB to join Alya et al. The next day Sat, they were in Desa Ru for the weekend break. SB MRT-returned from Denai Alam to join, fro-and-to, Nov 4 Mon early in the morning to resume his 3-rd week of intern.

Nov 2 Sat, drove to Manir Sat Bazaar. Again weather-wise it was a fine day, although cloudy. But the post-rain ground was sometimes annoying. The exposé of local produces by the side of the main road were dwindling by the traffic. But it was mainly due to the non-season of some of the produces.

Two contrasted Mosques on the way to Manir by the Sekati Link.

The home in Tok Jembal was duly maintained. The Nov weather of alternating daytime sunlight and nightime rain had made the weeds roamed in wild.

In W-Tengah, a cashew was planted. The plantlet originated from PUSU TIGA, ANI's place, many months ago, was transferred into an iron container, an ex-paint can, then the container were buried in the ground. It was at the back, at the feral menacing area. Hopefully the iron can would deter the feral menaces. The cashew itself is not known to be their favourite, neither to the cattle.

Archiving the Traces

Dated 2019G Nov 18 Mon 21 R-Awal 1441H

Nov 6 Wed, DRVKUL, with NA in WFV. TAV continued standby-ing in Sepetir. It was a bright first half day in K TRG when we embarked, but southwards, and westwards, the roads were enveloped with quite a downpour. Took an unsual break in Dungun, detouring from LPT2 exit at Kuala Dungun, and re-entered at Paka-Kemasek, in the monsoon rain. LPT1 was clear of rain after Temerloh, and it was after the sun-set break. MRR2 was unusually clear, free entirely of constipation. Gombak-Sg Merab was made in just 35-min. The bench mark of Karak-Gombak was re-confirmed 45-min, making Karak-Sg Merab ca 1.5h. Similar to Jabor-Dendang on the Rakyat JJA-route.

Nov 10 Sun, made an effort to dispose the h-ware which were acquired when we first settled in BBBangi in 1983 upon returning from England. They moved together to our new home in Sg Merab when we moved in 1987. Loaded in Muzani's SUV, took them to MADANI in Sect-3 BBBangi where Alam Flora was waiting.

Nonetheless, one pcs was preserved, as the top of the successor stove cabinet, replacing the one which has eroded by all sorts of spillage.

Nov was rather wet. It's raining almost every evening, torrentially at times, thunderous, with feary lightening. Mowing was only whenever there's a non-rainy moment, even in the afternoon. The sky was always cloudy, gathering for the rain with a very short warning.

Nov 15-17 Fri-Sun was NA engagement in KL. One in the Council, followed by the COMPETITION in UIA GOMBAK. This was the fourth time she get involved. The last three times were in UM (2018), USIM (2017), and UKM (2016). And for logistic-wise, she opted to stay inboard.

Nov 12 Tue, on the minor hitch in the 3082 case, all gathered in JABAT SUPOH of Sect-7 BBBangi in order for the original 102316 which, together with 102317, had since replaced 3082 could be reproduced. It was unanticipated, and thus, the temporary doc scheduled for end of this year is surely not possible.

Nov 15 Fri, SB by default, returned by MRT for the home weekend. And vice versa, Nov 18 Mon early in the morning for his 5th week of intern. CB completed the circuit.

Intermittent Rain

Dated 2019G Nov 27 Wed 30 R-Awal 1441H

Nov 19 Tue, DRVTGG, with NA in WFV. KL was virtually wet, perhaps through all Nov. It's more of local ritual of the period. Bright in the morning, very wet in the evening, with lightening, thundering, down-pouring, sometimes through into the night. Traffic-wise, both LPT1 and LPT2, apart from the wet, were clear.

SB returned home Nov 22 Fri as scheduled for the weekend, in our absence. And the weekend was ASRI's 19th BD, Nov 23 Sat. The elders et ank2 joined the gathering of celebration in Sg Merab.

TRG was equally wet. Cloudy sky, intermittent rain, making no-work for outside jobs frequently opted. Monsoon was here, sans strong wind though, but sufficiently breezy. It was cold at night, through to the morning.

NA official case-engagement was Nov 20 Wed which was then deferred to Nov 24 Sun. And another Nov 25 Mon, TRG BAR. Some unofficial engagements were in KOTA PUTRA kba KG RAJA, Nov 26 Tue, JABAT TANAH. Ostensibly a short home-coming in P-PANJANG. And PADANG LUAS too. And a quick visit to Pekan Jerteh after the HADARI. It was a wet to-drive, but rather dry fro in the evening.

Unrealised, that MONSOON CUP had disappeared, of course with the M-RM, uncharted. The first perhaps was in 2005, and said to have endured for ten years. Nonetheless in 2018, the DRAW BRIDGE took over the landscape of K Terengganu, in race to keep the beach of the northern shore from reaching the road by the beach.

A Small Gathering

Dated 2019G Dec 7 Sat 10 R-Akhir 1441H

Nov 28 Thu, DRVKUL, with NA in WFV. Weather-wise, it was fair. Cloudy sky, sporadic thin drizzling in both LPT2, and LPT1. Arriving in KL at ca 4, the ritual congestion had yet to start, except at the hot spots of constructions in Ampang, and BTS. KL was dry with cloudy sky and spotty downpour. The heaviest was between Serdang and UNITEN. Sg Merab was dry when we arrived.

Ank-cu2, as always gathered during the weekend, happened to be the final days of Nov, including SB who was on the home weekend, except Malini et al who were in Sg Limau, and Alya et al in JB. Their presence helped a lot in maintaining the landscape of the house, especially the backyard.

ALYA et al returned home Dec 4 Wed, for a break away. And with that some gatherings were organised, Dec 5 Thu. SB returned home to join, his pre-weekend. And the immediate weekend that followed.

SCHOOL BREAK for 2019 session started since Nov 23 Sat, and through all Dec. The new session would be in 2020 Jan. DEC started with a walimah of the neighbour, eastern across the tanah-terbiar. The sibling cluster, said to be among the local survivors from the massive Bangi development which had dramatically changed the demography of the Sg Merab vicinity through the land sale.

Noted that Dec 7 Sat, ank2 organised a beach frolic in PD. Alya et al were cum on their way back to JB. Zidni et al however skipped in preference to getting better. Some were overnight in rented accomodation.

A Lull

Dated 2019G Dec 14 Sat 17 R-Akhir 1441H

Dec 6 Fri, DRVTGG, with NA in WFV. Quite a congestion in MRR2 at the two notorious constrictions. BTS, and FLAMINGO. Weather-wise, it was fair. Cloudy sky, dry in LPT1, sporadic thin drizzling in LPT2. TRG was rather wet, sporadic raining, windy and cold.

NA's formal engagement was Dec 12 Thu, in the CT in Kota Putra pka Kg Raja. And like before, it was re-dated to Mar next year.

Dec 13 Fri, made a quick visit to KETAPANG BAZAAR, mainly for some kitchen sundries. Then practically within the same hr, attended RIPIN's walimah at his place in Bukit Berangan, an impromptu, 2-hr notice, invitation, the wedding of his daughter. Being a buddy in growing up together, he would do such thing, when knowing that I was around, and I would respond equivocally.

Dec 7 Sat was a Walimah Day. In the afternoon in Marang, of Abdullah Salleh, the wedding of his son, and oddly at night, in Tanjung Gelam of Rohaniah, the wedding of her daughter. The former an F3-1966-mate, and the latter a similar batch-mate in Padang Midin.

It was quite a lull of weather in TRG. Windy, cloudy, quite a frequent sunny morning and afternoon, that the perimeter could be managed. And long time debris were easily evaporated by fire. Plantlet were exposed, risking being menaced by the feral, or the cattle. Even some neighbours dropped by for some produces they could gather.

Dec 13 Fri, Ruby-Afiah arrived in Tok Jembal by bus from Bangi, joining the rest of hers who travelled in NAZA since Dec 9 Mon. And had dinner with us in W-Tengah.

And Dec 14 Sat was another NA's formal engagement, in K TRG. It was quite a packed agenda which took through beyond lunch time.

A Walimah in Kota Damansara

Dated 2019G Dec 22 Sun 25 R-Akhir 1441H

Dec 14 Sat, DRVKUL, in WFV, with NA after her TRG BAR meeting. In TRG it was very windy in the morning. Fast-changing cloudy sky sans rain, sporadically blue, changing to rainy as the day rolls. Practically it was a wet DRV in LPT1 and LPT2. It was an agony driving on h-way at night in the rain especially in the vicinity of haulers. The roads were dry only on the western side of Titiwangsa. And at 11 pm in Gombak, MRR2 was very clear. The pounding constructions fell silence.

Dec 19 Thu, the PT3 results came out. It was PMR, and in my time it was SRP/LCE with the results usually announced on Dec 26, or the day after if it fall on a public holiday. In my case in 1966, it was on Mon. The results obviously had arrived earlier than that at the respective school, most probably by post. Congratulation to all the candidates who had successfully been through it.

Dec 15 Sun was a Walimah in Kota Damansara. The wedding of the son of the late DOLLOH, the younger brother of the late MOHD, the eldest among the sibling. One of the sibling, JUSOH is married to my younger sister, MEK MAZIAH. MOHD, in late 1976, together with a cousin's hubby, ZAINI-TEH, took a great leap in migrating from their rural life in Petai Bubus to Kuala Lumpur. I gave them the initial shelter in Damansara Utama. When they started standing on their own feet, initially as security, they moved to nearby SG ARA. When the place was possessed, they squaterred in SG RUMPUT, which in turn was possessed. They were offered to buy a flat in KOTA DAMANSARA where they seemed to have made their lives. It was in Sg Rumput, Dolloh joined his brother. It was in Sg Rumput the two brothers, respectively, married the fellow settler. Unfortunately, in Kota Damansara, both passed on, preceded by the younger in 2002? followed by the elder 2006?, leaving widows and several children respectively, surviving, amazingly by themselves, very infrequently in touch with their TRG paternal connection. Zaini-Teh, who then was in a full family, worked so to remain in Sg Ara, passed on last year 2018, survived by MOK TEH, and children, all have married with relatively successful children.

Dec 22 Sun, a frolic with ank-cu2, of Ruby, Zidni, and Muzani, in SG BERNAM, close to Tanjung Malim. It was a ca 2 h drive, point to point. It was kebun durian along both sides of the river, weaved with that of rubber and oil palm, old, appeaared from which the kebun were originated after a massive replantation. The place was rather on a flat land, but very fast flowing water. Other than the distance, the place is viable for re-visit. Nonetheless, when city dwellers start to swarm the leisure places like this, the serenity would instantly disappeared.

3-Beradik in TRG, the Gift of 2019

Dated 2019G Dec 31 Tue 4 J-Awal 1441H

Dec 23 Mon, DRVTGG, in Nissan, with NA, CB, and ASRI. It was an afternoon drive, arriving at night, with a good, sunny, weather. Traffic-wise, BTS and FLAMINGO still constipating. CB and ASRI had not been in TRG for some times. Obviously SB even longer. Made the three together in TRG with SB taking an OD SZB-TGG to-and-fro over the weekend. It was sunny in TRG, blue sky, white clouds, and sans rain. It was unusually dry by Dec norm.

After the bridge, a drive to RAHSIA in Jln Budiman for a small gathering of throwing back the FUN TIME in the KOTA. In particular with Dr Abdullah, En Wan Musa, Dr Zubaidi, and Roslan. The year 2010 was the climax in Kota, then we were scattered to KGB in 2011, then to TEMBILA in 2013. In 2014 everything evaporated.

Dec 27 Fri, SB joined in W-Tengah direct from Denai Alam by an OD at 1910 from Subang. With that all 3-beradik were in TRG in closing the year 2019. Dec 28 Sat, all three of them were with their grandma in Tok Jembal. And at night, CB-ASRI returned to Sg Merab by an MH. SB, in turn, returned to Denai Alam Dec 29 Sun late morning by the same OD via Subang. The remaining two days Mon-Tue of 2019 was apparently recovering from a demam, got it since Fri evening, and was rather intense on Sat and the following Sun.

Dec 24 Tue, NA captured an impromptu invitation of makan2 in TELOK MENARA, of her colleague. Not far from Manir marketplace. Perhaps I had passed this road from Manir to the interior a couple of times, but a long time ago.

And at night, venturing the night time at THE BRIDGE, noting how it was admired, no less by the locals. On the K Nerus side, a big vacant-parking area was made available to the night-stroller. When I was a boy this place was called HUJUNG TAJUNG. I used to come here to appreciate the natural triple-phase interphase, accompanied by my cousin, the late Ahmad Yusof. The air, the sea, and the sand were baked together harmoniously in phase equilibrium composition by the light energy of the sun.

It was in this vicinity in year 2000 I had a bad luck of losing the fishing boat. It sank by the sand dune, on the way out for a trip, in a fine sunny morning of a Dec day.

Nonetheless, the gift of 2019 arrived at the eleventh hr. The Cu2#18. The #18M#5F#2M. Dec 30 Mon 0320 wee hr, in JB, of ALYA-FARHAN.
