The 4-th Quarter, Interstate De-MCO-ed

Dated 2021G Oct 15 Fri 8 R-Awal 1443H

September's gone relatively for free, just like the year 2020. October is to hold the last quarter of 2021. Current MCO was arbitrarily assigned MCO-v3-12, Oct 1-15, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. Citizen awareness was just the physical distance and the face mask which sometimes were neglected. The rakyat wished just for one thing. The restoration of interstate travel.

Oct 3 Sun, Ruby, Zidni, Muzani et al gathered for a kari-kepala-ikan, joining CB and Asri, and SB who was on home-weekend. Malini et al were in MERU, and ALYA et al in JB, otherwise every pcs of thirty-four of us were at home, which would be a rare chance of moment to archive. They kept accompany-ing while auditing the home perimeter.

Much of the time in Sg Merab was of waiting type. The interstate drive was very much in everyone's mind. ASRI was in his last SEM of his Dip Course in IUKL. His last exam was 2021 Oct 15 Fri 8 R-Awal 1443H, after two-and-half year. If he so desires, he could embark on working rather than continue to the degree. However in this pandemic time it appeared that a paper is not as good as a quest. ASRI was a registered IUKL student since 2019 Mar 27 Wed.

Fish-wise not so good this week. Landing on the beach of Kubang Badak and Tok Jembal was scarce. And the frequent wee-hr stormy rain had scared the fishermen from going out in the early morning. Most of the fish sold in the stalls along the beach road were that of "ikan kotot".

The masjids in Selangor were SOP-opened while I was in TGG. CB-ASRI went for Jumaat in Sg Merab last Fri after so many times MCO-missed. However, today OCT 1 Fri 24 Safar 1443H, we went to B BAGINDA. The jemaah were not corresponding to the shouting to normalise the masjid. Nonetheless Masjid B-Baginda was a preferred masjid since it was more pingitan than most of other masjids in the middle-class residentials.

Oct 10 Sun 3 R-Awal 1443H, Muzani gathered Ruby and Malini et al for an outdoor chicken grilling.

Oct 10 Sun 3 R-Awal 1443H, PM finally announced the end of no-interstate-MCO, beginning Oct 11 Mon 4 R-Awal 1443H. The rasionale given was that 90% of adult citizen had been fully vaccn-ed. Citizen were deliriously frenzy per posting in the media. Congestion could be expected to return as well.

Oct 12 Tue 5 R-Awal 1443H, DRVTGG. Both weather and traffic were favorable, and with addition of free of r-blok through out the route. Notably in Prasing, traffic were no longer herded into the RR for the pass. It appeared dry in TRG, but perhaps some torrential rain at night, typical of Oct pre-monsoon weather.

Assuming a Sleeping Pandemic

Dated 2021G Oct 31 Sun 24 R-Awal 1443H

Arbitrary assign of MCO continued with MCO-v3-13, Oct 15-31, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. Citizen had taken the de-MCO of interstate as the returning to normal routine, of course with physical SOP, notably in the Masjid.

Oct 18 Mon 11 R-Awal 1443H, Sabri MokTehPah passed away, in the mids of still menacing pandemic, in Pontian Johor. It happened so sudden giving a shock to sanak-saudara and waris-waroh, especially his ank-isteri who needed to compose themselves.

Oct 19 Tue, DRV-JERTEH. The main target was T-Bugis. Cutting down tall trees to give sufficient free volume to the durian to absorb the sunlight.

Oct 24 Sun, another DRV-JERTEH. The main target was P-RIMAU. Mainly mowing the NYIOR CORRIDOR. The task was accomplished, but the job was cut-short due to the mower rotating cable snapped off.

And Oct 30 Sat, another DRV-JERTEH. This third time was attending a wedding in Pasir Akar. It was an RYP staff, who NA was her superior. And of course on the way back, T-BUGIS was not forgotten since it was just on the way homeward.

Ending Oct, the media reported, and fed with a full swing activities of the citizen in the eateries, the beach, the stream and the banks, the super-outlets, the travelling accs, as though the risk was over, even though the MOH figure showed just an infinitesimal daily better. The pandemic may wake up from its sleep state at any moment of a disturbance and arrogance.

Since Oct 17 Sun 10 R-Awal 1443H, img from the Haramain were posted in the media of the Imam's call in solat to "..Luruskan barisan, rapatkan saf, isikan ruang-ruang kosong ..." Making after nearly two years, "..bahu bertemu bahu, kaki dirapatkan, saf diluruskan dan ukhwah sesama Muslim bertaut kembali .."

In the while in W-Tengah home, a second pisang was born. We missed the first one, it was a miscarriage. The img showed the pisang development during its two weeks of 'birth'.

Oct 22 Fri, went to KETAPANG marketplace. Could not remember the last time we were here through the MCO times. The place appeared to had been normalised, wrt the sellers and the buyers, but unnoticed, sans children. Noted also many amateurs were try-ing their luck in the frenzy of selling decorative KELADI. Even overheard an elder teasing the young invoking the KEMOYAN.

Oct 27 Wed, strolling KUALA BERANG, by LPT2, accompany-ing NA accomplishing a twisted task. The district of Hulu Terengganu was always a white zone during MCO-1, and MCO-2. But in MCO-3, it's colored, as red as other districts. While in town, dropped by at the two BAUNG. The TEPI-SUNGAI, and the TELAGA. Opened, all were on pax only. And the stalls in GAUNG appeared critically deprived of local produce. Even the lorry-produce were not attractive.

A Deepavali Spree

Dated 2021G Nov 8 Mon 3 R-Akhir 1443H

Arbitrary assign of MCO continued with MCO-v3-14, Nov 1-8, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. Citizen were rushing to make up the almost two years of interstate crossing ban. The frenzy was like a herd being let loose. Additional zooming the data of TRG was to represent the consequence of the social attitude of the citizen during the initial de-MCO.

Nov 2 Tue, a gloomy cloud-gathering day. Whole day sporadic drizzling since in the wee hr, nonetheless still sans wind though. It was said that the TENGKUJUH had commenced. The monsoon's eye was here for a kiss. The last great-wash was 2013 Dec through to 2014 Jan. The traditional ten year cycle was closing.

Nov 3 Wed, another DRV-JERTEH. It was wet in the orchards, no work could be done. The task then was just to plant another NYIOR in P-RIMAU, the 4th, ex-SUZARINA-NORDIN, just like in W-TENGAH. And to extract in P-PANJANG some BENIH PISANG GGALA which may be taken to BANGI for planting and propagation. Both tasks were accomplished. The homeward DRV was in the rain. Noted along the beach road, the eateries were swarmed with hungry visitors, old and young, especially in Rhu-10, the road side was fully packed with parking vehicles. It appeared that the eateries recovered from pandemic very much faster than they were damaged. On reaching W-TENGAH the rain subsided. The night was very cold. The England-winter blanket was comforting.

The EATERY FRENZY was very visible every day, every where, notably during morning b-fast time, and lunch time, and night makan-makan time. Some of the Q for b-fast got a bit hostile. The situation got a bit vitriolic in the presence of loca tourist, the bikers, etc, who might had idea of an expectation, and things did not turn up as in the idea. For the first time seeing PASAR MARAS so alive, Nov 5 Fri morning.

Nov 8 Mon, DRVKUL. Been in TRG since Oct 12 Tue 5 R-Awal 1443H, covering four times of DRV-JERTEH. T-Bugis (Oct 19 Tue), P-Rimau (Oct 24 Sun), JertehTown-c-P-Akar (Oct 30 Sat), and P-Rimau-c-P-Panjang (Nov 3 Wed), respectively.

The weather was fine in LPT2. Cool and cloudy. Nonetheless in LPT1 it rain on climbing the Titiwangsa. The western side was dry. Kuala Lumpur too. The traffic was fine too. What's left was what remain of yesterday KL-ward 'tsunami'. Yesterday the KARAK-KL congestion started as soon as SG DUA. Today MRR2 too was relatively light when we arrived, ca 1610, except in BTS at the never-ending construction.

Nov 3 Wed, late afternoon, RUBY et al made a DRVTGG, settling in Tok Jembal house just after mid-night.

Nov 4 Thu, was Malaysia break Day of DEEPAVALI. CB-SB-ASRI 3-beradik followed suit the DRVTGG, joining in W-TENGAH. Their last Trg-return was before 2020 Mar MCO when interstate travel ban was imposed. SB topped up with his annual leave from AIR KEROH. ASRI had just completed his Diploma in IUKL. However the pandemic had tolled much of the FUN of BALIK KAMPUNG, the visiting was exclusive to their grandma only. That CB-SB-ASRI 3-beradik, and RUBY et al, DRVKUL-ed Nov 7 Sun. Reportedly, they took more than 9h to reach KL, three more hr than the benchmark 6h. The congestion started after Karak toll, after which the traffic from Gua Musang merged, thickened the flow viscosity.

A Time with Adam-s

MCO-v3-15, Nov 9-20, was arbitrarily assigned, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. Most part of the cities were swarmed by the hungry people. Motorised vehicles were criss-crossing in speed.

Nov 12 Fri 7 R-Akhir 1443H ALYA et al returned home in Sg Merab for the home weekend, arriving in wee hr last night. SB ex-Ayer Keroh returned at night for the same. Nonetheless, usual gathering was not as merry. Muzani et al were on field trip for his-initiative KAD SMART PELADANG. RUBI-EDI-lowerKIDS were in TRG, leaving the daughters. MALINI was in need of a new car after selling her WPD KELISA. And ZIDNI et al were in quarantine in their Cyberjaya home.

Nov 14 Sun 9 R-Akhir 1443H, an evening of ank-cu2 gathering, sans Zidni et al though. Thus it was six less than the full house of thirt-four. The sixth was Munif in SSAS hostel in Putrajaya. Ruby-et-5beranak arrived at night ex-TRG. SB made a non-baked cake for ASRI pre-BD reminding, Nov 23 Tue next week.

Nov 17 Wed, ALYA ET AL left, returning to JB after ca a week in Sg Merab. Both ADAM-s have had good times with their cousins.

Nov 10 Wed 4 R-Akhir 1443H, made a mission drive to KL, after so long had not been in the city centre. The task was to reach the MENARA BIMB in Jalan Perak, NA to fetch a set of docs which otherwise would be courier-ed to the firm add in TRG. The MENARA is a majestic structure, standing as tall as other internationally owned structures, but the street along it was rather empty due to the pandemic. KL is no longer a city of Persekutuan Tanah Melayu as in the seventies. Back then BIMB was in a foetal state in the hand of a poor lecturer in UKM Jln Pantai Baru. The idea was to re-capture the losing money the bona fide owners did not want to put in the contemporary banks because of riba. When BI was safely delivered, still in the labour ward, the OnG made a broadcasting appearance reminding the people that "BI is not a welfare department, it's a commercial bank just like any other banks..." In just 50y, from zero to a giant money-monster, it's amazing to wonder the source of money flowing into the bank vault. BIMB was born a sibling to LUTH in Jln Tun Razak with a lot of similarity. Both majestic buildings kept not just vaults of money but more, vaults of stories. The older sister BBMB, being born in pre-renaissance, suffered the prophetic ending before the year 2k.

Nov 15 Mon, first thing after subuh, SB made his home-weekend, DRV-A_KEROH. In his scheme, for three to four weeks. And at night ANK2 gathered one more time for an ASAM-PEDAS fiesta cooked by Farhan.

And nasi-kerabu the following day Nov 16 Tue, plus a session of pulut-lepa, followed by a steamed KERAI and MERAH by Muzani at the close of the day. Both Ruby et al and Malini et al joined in the evening.

The Phenomenal Melaka PRN

Dated 2021G Nov 30 Tue 25 R-Akhir 1443H

MCO-v3-16, Nov 19-30, was arbitrarily assigned, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. The figure indicated a re-rise, and the MOH DG had issued the warning. On the b-ground it was the MELAKA PRN Nov 20 Sat. The repeat of SABAH PRN of 2020 SEP 26 was not excluded. PRN SARAWAK post-2021-Jun-7 was deferred for fear of Sabah-PRN repeat.

Nov 22 Mon, noted the beach of Kubang Badak was nearly deserted since the past days, for now in welcoming the rainy-wet season. The fish landing was halted for a break, giving the way for the monsoon if it pass by. And they said till Mar next year. Took a short time to rendv with Dr Abdullah who happened to be joined by his former students.

Nov 23 Tue, to K Berang again for some matters in Lembaga Hasil, and T Haji. And ending in Jabat Tanah in Kompleks Sri Iman, KT. All missions accomplished.

NA concluded the matter in JABAT TANAH in Kompleks Seri Iman on Nov 28 Sun. In the while, poked in JABAT PUSAKA nearby to find out how to get myself released from being the Pemegang Amanah for the youngest two who were minors during the time of terekoh in 2012. We were given the docs prescription. The application was submitted Nov 30 Tue, with a reminder that it may take more than six months for the 'trial'.

November ended with a severe 'punishment' to the rakyat, may or may not related to the results of Melaka PRN. In fact the warning was issued before the PRN date with the illogical naik harga of chicken and eggs. Immediately after the PRN, it was the green. And circular was flying that practically all prices, the hardware, the vehicle spare parts, the building materials, everything in the shop, would increase by as much as 200%. Dec was waiting with a whip of blackmail which was also a warning for a rumour that PRU-15 was to be called earlier than the due time. The only antidote to the phenomenon was the consumer boycott, but to get it organised and effectively supported by the mass, every where, is next to impossible.

Nov 30 Tue, ended the Nov with a short rendz with Dr Jamil, in Jln Pusara, before returning to JABAT PUSAKA, submitting the application to drop the PEMEGANG AMANAH.

Nov 19 Fri 14 R-Akhir 1443H DRVTGG after being in Sg Merab since Nov 8 Mon. The DRV was pleasant. Apart from the never-ending-construction in BTS, MRR2 was smooth. Gombak was reached in the benchmark time. The weather was fine too, in both LPT-s. RnR were not fully swarmed, but it was better to get home fast. Some skirmish rain in TRG, but on the whole it was dry. Home-ed in W-TENGAH in just 5-h, 1-h faster than the 6-h benchmark. Noted signs that it's been raining in the last few days, and today was just a lull. TRG was in the rainy season.

Nov 20 Sat 15 R-Akhir 1443H, MELAKA 15-TH PRN. In 2018, Melaka was PH by PRU-14, in 2020 it was BN by Sheraton Move. And today it's confirmed to BN by PRN. The results set a more rigorous stage for the PRU-15 in 2022/3, especially in TRG. History repeats itself, and may many times.

Nov 21 Sun NA joined TRG BAR in an overnight Retreat in Kenyir on Boathouse. Kenyir does not need to accelerate in its ascending to become a tourist spot. Let the lake preserved the water as natural as possible. My first time in Kenyir was in 2006, at the period end of my tenure in UKM. The second time was in 2008 Aug, at my beginning period in UDM. However both did not live long to the objective.

Nov 24 Wed was a rainy day, perhaps just like the few days before we arrived last Fri, the sky was covered all over by the falling clouds. The backyard of W-Tengah was wet, water-logged in same places. Nevertheless, in the rain, we visited Medin in Wakaf Mesu, the outlet they said the largest of that kind in the country. The place is big, yes, but I still could not get a potato peeler, and a shoe horn. For the locals, there is Sabasun just a hop away, which provides alternative kitchen sundries, only sans western-tagged food outlets.

Wet in Both East and West

MCO-v3-17, Dec 1-15, was arbitrarily assigned, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. In the media the OMICRON variant was now flashing, silencing the DELTA, and the supposedly shield was the BOOSTER, i.e. the 3rd dose.

Dec 3 Fri 28 R-Akhir 1443H, DRVKUL. TRG was wet when we left. The bogged water was everywhere from the rain since yesterday. If we were still in TRG, it would be fun to see the water all over the place, and raining all day with sporadic lulls. It was drizzling through out the drive. It stopped only on climbing the Titiwangsa. KL was not raining, but cloudy like it's going to non-torrential rain. Traffic throughout was light, including in MRR2. Apparently today, Dec 3 Fri was a break day for KL, for winning the Piala Malaysia against Johor last two nights.

Dec 4 Sat, ANK2 gathering. Zidni et al arrived since late morning. SB home-weekend-ed, arriving in the afternoon, ex-Ayer Keroh. Ruby et ank2, Malini-sans-Munif, and Muzani et al were already in Bangi. Nontheless sans Alya et al who were in JB.

DEC 1 Wed 26 R-Akhir 1443H, DRV-JERTIH. It was a rather favourable weather. Almost all tasks were accomplished. Hopefully T-BUGIS, and P-RIMAU were in keeping warm under the sporadic sunshine, and were unaware that we were around.

And Dec 5 Sun, a makan spree 5-beranak in Bangi, NA said a belated celebration of ASRI 21st BD on Nov 23 Tue during which we were in TRG.

Dec 9 Thu 4 J-Awal 1443H, helped Zidni initiating in his lot in Sg Merab, encouraging him to re-opt the ideal way of settling. It would take times, many times, even an inch at a time. It takes a bravery to get convinced that a mole mountain at a time, over time, would make a mountain.

2021 is leaving in two weeks. Perhaps with 2020, it was the longest years as both kept almost every one at bay off the streets and h-ways. To many the pandemic was a mystery. It was more mysterious since political fingers were seen ticking during the thick of the pandemic. The booster phase of vac was all carried out in private clinics. And thus the guns fell silence.

Sg Petani, Sarawak PRN, and The Flood in Kelang Valley

Dated 2021G Dec 31 Fri 26 J-Awal 1443H

Arbitrarily assigning MCO-v3-18, for Dec 16-31, to round up the 2021, topping the previous measures of COVID-MCO-es. In the media the BOOSTER, i.e. the 3rd dose was drummed up to combat OMICRON variant.

Dec 18 Sat 13 J-Awal 1443H, DRV-SGPETANI, Kedah, 4-beranak, bye-ing ALYA et al in Sg Merab for another night. It was wet almost through out the drv. And a crawling outward from the capital. We eventually arrived in SG PETANI, staying in the EMERALD PUTERI, TAMAN SEJATI INDAH, I supposed a newly developed area. Perhaps this was the second time, or the third time in Sg Petani, the previous being during the chitosan time mainly of the 80-90-s et seq. In Sg Petani the matter was that of NA's KIK batch. They have successfully build a SURAU from collection among themselves, the surau was part of a TAHFIZ, MRIQ, currently in rented building in town. And today, Dec 19 Sun, they were receiving the premise from the contractor, and they would move here soon.

Alya hp-ed that they were leaving for JB. In the media it was shown that Selangor was sunken by the non-stop rain since Fri morning. And in the media also, it was clear that GPS, the Sarawak-BN-version, had gained a landslide majority in the PRN.

Dec 20 Mon, DRV-KUL, homeward, but while in SG PETANI, detoured to TANJUNG DAWAI the site of SEA PRODUCES, equivalent to the Seberang Takir asal. Noted the originality was preserved, the modernisation being added when necessary only, unlike the Seberang Takir.

Dec 21 Tue, got the BOOSTER at PK-Cahaya in P-8. The place was not a PPV, it's a purely private clinic perhaps being outsourced. No wonder now the noises of the vaccination had died down. And understanding that millions of CT-zens were to be vacc-ed, no wonder during the early vac days, the noise was so thunderous.

Dec 28 Tue 23 J-Awal 1443H DRVTGG with NA, after an on leave from TGG since Dec 3 Fri. When we left KL was still wet, but the weather was fine. Sunny with scattered white clouds. And in fact the weather throughout was fine including in TRG. And the traffic was fine too. Light even in MRR2, except at the never-ending BTS mega construction.

TRG was dry when we arrived, blue sky with spotted clouds, but signs on the road indicated that it's been raining sporadically. In W-Tengah the compound was such neglected, the grass was tall since during the last return it was not mowed due to raining. Thus mowing in W-Tengah was a task.

Dec 30 Thu 25, NA went for the booster KLINIK KOMUNITI (formerly KLINIK 1MALAYSIA), Tanjung Jaafar. It was deferred from the appointed date of Dec 21 Tue, just like I was in PK CAHAYA P-8. However the appointment was in TRG in one private clinic IKRAM in Gong Badak. When we deferred, the KLINIK KOMUNITI instead hp-ed for the new date.

In the last day of 2021, Dec 31 Fri 26 J-Awal 1443H, the PINGITAN MARAS was visited in the drizzling of the early morning. Monsoon was knocking on the door of 2002. The high wave created by the strong wind pounded the beach for the annual feast of water margin. Torrential rain, skirmish drizzling, trumpetting blow of wind, a sunny peek, were weaving with each other.

Dec 16 Thu 11 J-Awal 1443H, ALYA et al returned for a home-weekend cum having a booster, both of them in IOI. And as always ank-cu2 gathered, Dec 17 Fri. Almost full house, 31/34 sans only Edi, SB, and Hanif.

The flood in Selangor was very bad. As bad as in Kelantan in 2013/4. The area kept on being mentioed in the media were Taman Seri Muda, and Hulu Langat. The damage done by the muddy flowing water was incalculable. The menaces called for national help, and the help were pouring non stop, from mostly the ordinary citizen, in national unity, challenging the power holders who were non stop in grabbing from one another and putting the blame but on themselves. Notably Kelantan, tagged as Misi Balas Budi Kuala Kerai, and Kedah, sent a convoi of unprecedented humanitarian mission.
