Welcoming Ramadan 1442H

Apr 1 Thu 18 Shakban 1442H was the starting of MCO v2-7, to end Apr 14 Wed 2 Ramadan, just another continuation of the previous categorised MCO in which inter-state movement was still not allowed. Done were the MCO v2-6, MCO v2-5, MCO 2.0-4, MCO 2.0-3, MCO 2.0-2, MCO 2.0, Q16, R-Q15, Q14, Q13, R-Q12, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1, since 2020 Jun 10 Wed.

Apr 12 Mon 29 Shakban 1442H, DRVKUL in TAV with NA after getting P-endorsement in Gong Badak. Weather-wise it was cloudy, and the traffic was light. Two stops, one in PAKA RR to include refueling, and in Lanchang for washroom. The paper checking before Gombak toll was very light. It was pre-congestion time when we reached KL, even in the massive construction sectors of AKLEH-FLAMINGO and the 'infamous' BTS-SGBESI rail complex. With that we made it in less than the bench-mark time of six hr.

Apr 13 Tue, RAMADAN 1442H set in. And it was 5-beranak, including SB. His last Ramadan at home was 1435H, Jun 2014. He spent the last six Ramadan in Germany. Nonetheless, among the six years, he managed to spend some Raya Haji at home while on vacation.

Apr 14 Wed 2 Ramadan 1442H, end of MCO v2-7. The new positives were still in the thousands. The hope for the inter-state un-MCO this Syawal in four weeks time, was very dim.

Mac-15in screen was replaced in one w-shop in B-BAGINDA, CB restored to status quo before solat Jumaat. The 10y old Mac still performed, and with the new screen, free from damaged pixel, it still suited my purposes.

Apr 3 Sat 20 Shakban 1442H, DRVTGG, with NA in TAV after obtaining P-Endorsement the day before. It was a fine day all the way. At TEMERLOH RR where we stopped for a refreshment, stumbled with JAMALUDDIN DAUD 3-beranak, he said to send his daughter bungsu a Russian-DR-grad to report duty in Kuantan Hospital. And also stumbled with REDUAN 3-beranak, he said on the way home from routine check in IJN. And a fine traffic too, except the pass-checking, first immediately after Bentong toll, and the second at Prasing RR. However we exited LPT2 at Chukai, dropped at NASAEE's place in MOK CHILLI, for ca 2h. Resumed the drive by the beach route. Singgah ACID DUNGUN CORNER near the Telekom, for mi-kari, becoming the last customer for the day. The rest of the drive was on re-LPT2 from BKT BESI toll passing PADANG PULUT from CHE LIJAH.

Home in W-Tengah at sun set. Viewed in the semi-darkness, all were fine at home. It appeared that TRG was not that dry in the past weeks. Noted also, one new house is coming up. The southern back lot which was cleared for paket-ing.

While in the LPT, it was comm-ed that in W-TENGAH, NUAR was fitting the STEEL RAILING on the wash-area stair. The img were relayed ca 1150.

Into 7-Series

Dated 2021G Apr 30 Fri 18 Ramadan 1442H

Apr 15 Thu 3 Ramadan 1442H was the MCO v2-8, to end Apr 30 Fri 18 Ramadan 1442H, just another continuation of the previous categorised MCO in which inter-state movement was still not allowed. The number in the last few days had been worsening. The quantum of two weeks was no longer relevant. Done were the MCO v2-7, MCO v2-6, MCO v2-5, MCO 2.0-4, MCO 2.0-3, MCO 2.0-2, MCO 2.0, Q16, R-Q15, Q14, Q13, R-Q12, R-Q11, R-Q10, R-Q9, R-Q8, R-Q7, R-Q6, R-Q5, R-Q4, R-Q3, R-Q2, and R-Q1, since 2020 Jun 10 Wed.

Apr 17 Sat 5 Ramadan 1442H, ank-cu2 weekend-gathered in Sg Merab. Absent were Munif in SSAS hostel in Putrajaya, Edi in TRG, and concomitantly ALYA 4-beranak in JB, confined from joining by MCO. The gathering pre-celebrated my 70th B-DAY, Apr 20 Tue 8 Ramadan 1442H. And thus officially into, as they say, the 7-SERIES. The phasing was significant, but to others since being the 7-series, it was 'insignificant'. Noted that the well-wishers were no longer of career-based, but more of acquaintance-based.

Apr 30 Fri 18 Ramadan 1442H, was the end of MCO v2-8, but the end of the MCO tunnel was yet to be seen. The numbers were not hopeful at all. With that, the continuation, MCO v2-9 was announced and having similar order, to end May 17 Mon 5 Shawal 1442H. Thus effectively, there would be no BALIK KAMPUNG during the RAYA of 1 Shawal 1442H, May 13 Thu.

GODADDY, the hosting server was not reachable by FTP since several days ago. WEB-ing was still possible though. The last upload was Apr 14. Several days later, some img files of 70th-BD-wishes were successfully uploaded, but they were unlinked yet. Was the FTP-Zilla was out of date? Was the server, physically in the USA, being under updating maintenance? Perhaps the third was the possibility.

Apr 28 Wed 16 Ramadan 1442H, DRVTGG in TAV with NA, bye-ing the 3-beradik, in the mids of MCO strict control, and in Ramadan. The P-endorsement was obtained in B-BAGINDA the day before. Both traffic and weather were favourable, with two road-blocks. One in Bentong after the toll plaza, and another in Prasing RR. Being in Ramadan, the drive was fast. 0942 setoff in Sg Merab, 1507 home in W-Tengah. It was not too dry in TRG, but rather rainless.

The Unpromising May

Dated 2021G May 12 Wed 30 Ramadan 1442H

May 1 Sat 19 Ramadan 1442H was the MCO v2-9, to end May 17 Mon 5 Shawal 1442H, just another continuation of the previous categorised MCO in which inter-state movement was still not allowed. The numbers in the last MCO v2-8 had been worsening. The quantum of two weeks was no longer relevant. Done were other COVID-MCO-es, since 2020 Jun 10 Wed. With that May could not promise to deliver the traditional Shawal in it.

May 1 Sat 19 Ramadan 1442H, had iftar in Jlan Pusara, with NA's elder brother, Dr Jamil. He's the last pcs of staff of my time remaining in Uniza, Tembila. The second last was Dr Che Abdullah, who decided to make his day in Uniza in recent Feb.

May 4 Tue 22 Ramadan 1442H, DRVKUL, in TAV with NA, with the P-endorsement was obtained on Mon the day before in Gong Badak. The traffic and weather were favourable. The only r-blok was in Gombak, before the toll plaza. The east-bound blok was noted in Bentong just after the toll plaza. MRR2 was similarly favourable even in Ampang never-end construction site, and in the BTS mega high-way interchange. When we reached Sg Merab just before asar, beating the bench-mark time of six hr, signs were that a heavy downfall had just stopped.

May 7 Fri 25 Ramadan 1442H, MCO-v3 was launched, spanning May 7-20, for red-zone states, snatching the previous MCO. KL-Selangor were in the bulk. It was later expanded nation-wide with a stricter control covering to Jun 7 Mon 26 Shawal 1442H. The re-MCO, enhanced SOP, had limited the numbers in Masjid, and strangely no outdoor, unlike during post-lockdown when outdoor-in-compound were allowed. And thus we missed it in Masjid B-Baginda on the May 7 Fri, 25 Ramadan.

Ramadan 1442H ended May 12 Wed. We were in Sg Merab already for the Idulfitr the following day. 5-beranak, including SB, his re-idulfitr since returning from Germany just before last year 2020 Z-Hijjah. Others were kept at bay by MCO in their own home, fortunately close by except ALYA et al in JB.

ZIDNI et al, MALINI et al had their iftar with us on the last Ramadan day. The former put up for the Shawal day. RUBY et ank2, MUZANI et al, joined after iftar for the pre-raya night gathering. TRG did not get nearer by the day for them to have a break with their relatives, both maternal and paternal.

Shawal 1442H, Ayer Keroh, and Comirnaty

Dated 2021G May 20 Thu 8 Shawal 1442H

To the heptagenarian, May 13 is synchronously tagged to the year 1969. The infamous 1969 MAY 13 which was a milestone in the history of Malaysia. The hexagenarian barely remember the event. In a decade or so, with depleting heptagenarian, and octagenarian, and older, the infamous MAY 13 would be archived in the history vaults, and perhaps would not be let to appear in textbooks. This year May 13 Thu, was 1 Shawal 1442H. The Idulfitr, under MCO-v3 which was a repeat of Shawal 1441H-2020. Done were COVID-MCO-es.

All ank-cu2 were around, except Alya 4-beranak in JB, prevented by MCO situation to travel home. Gathering was as early as 30th Ramadan night. Like last year, the EID PRAYER was at home among ank-cu2. Even the khutbah was of last year ex-WILAYAH. CB helped printed a copy from this year JAKIM. But it didn't really matter after all.

May 15 Sat, a raya re-gathering in the evening through the night, but it was on the pretext to bid SB a well-wish to his CAREER start. May 16 Sun he drove off to his rent-room in AIR KEROH, and May 17 Mon, check-ed in COHU MALAYSIA. May 8 Sat last week, Muzani accompanied SB to Air Keroh to take up the rent-room, and had a close look at the premise of COHU. This was SB's new phase of trial of life. The phase of initial independency, eleven years after his mother left when he was 15 and together with ASRI, then 10, were taken cared of in large part by ALYA, while she herself was pursuing her BSc in UPM. I was in UDM-UNISZA in the middle of VC2 taking over VC1, TNCAA1 giving way to TNCAA2, and TNCPnI3 replacing TNCPnI2, being in the middle, I was eventually splashed out. Nonetheless during the UDM-UNISZA period, with CB at the same time a student, the 4-beradik enjoyed themselves a lot in commuting KL-KT, mostly by air.

May 19 Wed 7 Shawal 1442H, as commn-ed by a Putrajaya number, appointment for the Cov-Vac-1, it was in Dewan Serbaguna Salak Tinggi, scheduled 1030. Went with NA. Arrived, and went through the procedure. Got it ca 1150, and noted the name COMIRNATY, with the second appointment in three weeks time, Jun 9. And homewards. A lot could be written about the vacc-n aspect of the pandemic.

More Uncertainities

Dated 2021G May 31 Mon 19 Shawal 1442H

The pandemic was getting worse, the numbers kept increasing. It installed fear in every conscience citizen, and took away their agility of movement, the most recent was May 13 of SHAWAL BALIK KAMPONG which to many have had very much less meaning than the usual. As anticipated the MCO was extended to MCO-v3-2 from May 21 Fri 9 Shawal 1442H, with full of uncertainities. And with all unfocused wrt the quantum time, the restriction content, and the localities. The talk among the citizen was the UNALLOWED INTERSTATE. Various COVID-MCO-es had gone by weaving in between the forces of politics and money making. Many apparently blissfully gained a lot from the pandemic.

Comirnaty-2 in The 2.0 Total Lockdown

Dated 2021G Jun 14 Mon 3 Z-Kaedah 1442H

The pandemic was getting worse for the past ten days. A total lockdown was thus imposed for the second time. The MCO-v3-3, Jun 1 Tue to Jun 14 Mon, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. Last year MCO started with a lockdown 2020 Mar 18-31. Forthnightly quantums followed throughout April and May. And prolonged to this day.

The HOPING was running high, and the WAITING was an agony. Jun 9 Wed, the 2nd dose of comirnaty was administered in the same place in Salak Tinggi. Unlike during the 1st dose, the 2nd dose perhaps was heavier. I felt my body was fighting something on Thu afternoon, through to the night, the second day after the injection.

The LOCK DOWN v2.0 was not so effective, not like the 1.0 last year. Through out the fourteen days quantum, the figures were like at a stable equilibrium, nothing was cheering up. All were on the b-ground of fist-fighting among the politicians, intra-race, and the fiercer inter-race. For that the v3.0 was launched, for another quantum of two weeks, Jun 15-28.

The v2-2 Total Lockdown

Dated 2021G Jun 30 Wed 19 Z-Kaedah 1442H

The MCO-v3-4, Jun 15 Tue to Jun 28 Mon was launched, topping the previous measure of COVID-MCO-es. Over the media, it was anticipated that recovering interstate movement was possible only by Nov, if the daily count is below 500. Nonetheless on the horizon RAYA HAJI with its QURBAN ritual is looming, Jul 20 Tue, which may re-trigger a new wave. And the PRN Sarawak, which had been deferred, may repeat the PRN Sabah last year end. And repeat the fresh wave of pandemic.

The last DRVTGG was Apr 28 Wed 16 Ramadan 1442H, with the returning DRVKUL May 4 Tue 22 Ramadan. Since then, we were net-ed in SG MERAB by MCO, because FIRMA GUAMAN was not in the list of essential services during the total lockdown v2, spanning nearly all May with Shawal in it, and entire Jun, and would extend into Jul.

Jun 21 Mon, the summer SOLSTICE, the longest day in northern hemisphere, and this year was on Mon. The media tagged it also as the FATHER's DAY (Jun 20). The same solstice eleven years ago in 2010 was also on Mon, none of the years after that was on Mon.

Muzani, with Fir, popped-in, from a long MCO-quietness. He left after a hair-cut, to come again the coming weekend to deal with the monsoon calvert which appeared provocating every time of down fall.

SB arrived home at garib, for a break after ca a month since May 16 Sun in his just acquired career position in Ayer Keroh. He was on a break under the pretext of a week total work-from-home. A short update, he appeared contented with the job and the environment, including on his rent-room residence.

Jun 26-28 Sat-Mon, I took the boys to help tending to the bend at the monsoon drain which had created quite a fearful hole at the water trajectory path of the ninety degree bend. Discarded columns of Muzani's ex-shade were utilised.

My late elder brother and I keep a lot of secrets that our younger brothers and sisters didn't quite know. The one below was among the things our mother took home to make the best for her children. It was during our worst time at the end of the 60-s.
