Apr 1-15 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-26, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The SOP of face-masking had died down, but consistent of personal choice. 
Apr 15 Sat 24 Ramadan 1444H, perhaps my only formal IFTAR for this year Ramadan. It's in Bandar Seri Putra. NA's colleague, Yunus. SB who arrived home last night for the home weekend thus joined the trip, making 5-beranak. Met in the occasion Dr Rohani Kadir, x-UKM Sains Hayat, and acquainted a new younger one from the same Faculty, Dr Salmah Yaakob. The former is the immediate neighbour to the host, and the latter a BBB-ian, a cousin to the host. It was a grand Iftar, but we left before Iser to catch TERAWEH at home.

Apr 6 Thu 15 Ramadan 1444H, DRVTGG with NA in TAV, a popping up in TRG for a week. Both traffic and weather were very favourable. Home-ed with a lot of time to prepare for iftar, alas, in a bazaar.
A week of mid-Ramadan in TRG was in pre-raya mode. The weather was superfine. Blue sky and very calm sea, but too hot and dry for the flora. Cars needed attention. The stock in the kitchen needed to be replenished. A task a day. 
Apr 13 Thu 22 Ramadan 1444H, DRVKUL with NA in TAV, in view of Shawal together in Sg Merab. The air was rather hazy, as it has been for the past few days. WLU was left in TJHOME, Ruby said she wanted it for Shawal as she expected so in TJHOME this year. NA has to have a short rendv in KTS. Thus we took LPT2 at Ajil. But ended at Kerteh toll for a few tubes of Lemang Kijal. The haze apparently was through out the drv. In KL nevertheless a thin skirmish rain clear the air a bit. Congestion in KL was spotty, as always in Ampang-Pandan sectors, and in BTS. Light though. Nearly all constructions had ceased, including the mega one in BTS-SgBesi. The congestion returned in normal spots of merging, and left-exit pig-ing.

Apr 16-30 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-27, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The SOP of face-masking had died down, but consistent of personal choice. However of recent it was noted an increase in cases, that some quarters invoked on insisting on re-mask-ing. 
Apr 19 Wed 28 Ramadan 1444H evening, SB long Shawal leave started when he returned home, which marked Shawal was approaching fast, and were seen at the changes of other chorus. The Q-santan get longer. The bang-loner. The iftar events. The kept-unused pots. And traffic-jam was the current talk of the town, climax-ing in the visibility of the new moon sighting.
Apr 20 Thu 29 Ramadan 1444H was my BDay-72. Ruby et al, Zidni et al, came over, adding up 5-beranak, for the IFTAR, the second last for the 1444H. Malini, Muzani et al came over the following day, the last of Ramadan, Apr 21 Fri. 
Apr 22 Sat 1 SHAWAL 1444H RAYA IDUL FITRI 2023/1444H, in SG MERAB, with ank-cu2, all except Alya et al, in JB. Smayang in SNR, 5-beranak plus Malini, Zidni, et al. Ruby, Muzani, et al, joined after smayang, and PokJo 3-beranak.
Apr 25 Tue 4 Shawal 1444H, onward, spent the raya in TRG, fortunately with ank-cucu, who had the opportunity of returning to TRG as well, except Zidni, and Muzani. Visiting ANI in Pusu Tiga, MEK et al were visiting at the same time. Apr 26 Wed 5 Shawal 1444H A gathering in WT-HOME in the morning for a treat of nasi-dagang. Alya 3-beradik with SB and ASRI went to visit their mother's grave in Paya Datu. Apr 27 Thu 6 Shawal 1444H night another gathering of fried meals, Farhan supervised. PokJo missed, in Bangi already by then. Apr 28 Fri 7 Shawal 1444H, Ruby et al drv-ed homeward the very first thing in the morning. Malini, Alya, et al, followed suit after a nasi-minyak b-fast in WT-Home. After jumaat, an open house in Jlan Wireless of Dr Jami's place. Met most of adik-beradik NA. Abg Murad dropped by in WT-Home on their way home. Apr 29 Sat 8 Shawal 1444H, RAYA NAM, intended to visit kubur-mok-ayoh, but a bad tummy rigour, prevented. Thus the 3-beradik DRV-KL the first thing in the morning. Instead a visit by YUSRI ABG MAT of K-Sentul, and her sister, DER, et al, on their way to send ank2 to Rusila Tahfiz. It was followed by FAUZAN et al after their visit to MOKLONG, their ex-landlord.

Apr 16 Sun 25 Ramadan 1444H, a visit to the Centrum to replenish the kitchen in preparation for the Shawal in five days time. That was after an hp from PokSid in Trg saying that Prof Manaf had just passed on in Bangi. The burial was in Perkuburan Sg Tangkas. Met in the occasion were Lokmal, Khairil (UDM-UPM), Ghazali VET, Mohamad Deraman (UKM), Mustafa Jamaliah (MINT), and others ex UKM, UPM, ABIM, etc. But not a crowd. At night ank-cu2 of #1,2,3 filled the house for an IFTAR, staying through to after Teraweh. SB hiked his buddy back to Ayer Keroh, fro-ing last Fri night drv.
Apr 24 Mon 3 Shawal 1444H DRVTGG, 5-beranak in TAV and WWS. It was a fine weather, plus a bonus of clear-traffic-KL, including clear-toll. Nonetheless, RR-Temerloh was swarmed with motorists. A few junctions later we detoured to FELDA-1 for a marriage matter of NA's cousin's daughter.
On conceding we further detoured hinterland-ward, and made a stop in K SENTUL, MARAN. Joined asar at the Masjid. But most of all it's time retrieval back to after my SPM in 1968 Nov, where I had quite a frolic while waiting for the Form-6 in 1969 Apr. Noted the historic RUMAH BERLOTENG, and the river behind it where we had the fun of dipping. It was five when we conceded, re-taking LPT at Maran toll.
And thus home-ed in W-TENGAH at night. Arriving at about the same time were MALINI et al in TJHOME, and ALYA et al, initially in TJHOME, then settled in WTHOME. Ruby et al were already in TJHOME since the wee hr of Sun with a gear-limping Alza. WLU was ready-ed for them in TJHome to use, didn't mean for rescue. Similarly, POKJO 3-beranak home-stayed with ANI in Pusu Tiga.

May 1-15 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-28, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The SOP of face-masking had been re-invoked by MOH, but just encouraged, in view of noted increase in cases. But many took it as personal choice. 
May 8 Mon 17 Shawal 1444H, joining the reunion of Padang Midin SPM-67, in Masjid Seberang Takir, with a number of SPM-68, kind of invited. Nafisah, Wan Mariam, Rohaniah, Lijah, Hasmah, Draman, CG Li, Razali, Sohok were present.
May 10 Wed 19 Shawal 1444H, accompany-ed NA to KTS in Batu Buruk for its Raya Day, as guests for being a legal penal. Re-met Md Salleh Lebar my 1y senior P-Midin who I met last Mon in the P-Midin SPM-67 gathering in Seberang Takir. He was the guest of his anak who was the staff. More details were extracted, one was his Brunei adventure after KUSTEM/UMT. NA met several junior buddies, some were even the patients.
May 12 Fri 21 Shawal 1444H, attending a walimah in Ru Rendang, the wedding of NA's junior M-buddy loyar. Naturally NA met many other colleagues, especially Salwa et al.

The heat had subsided in May beginning by frequent short showers weaving between sunshines. The air was very much cooler than during the initial Shawal days. The sky had been cloudy for many days. It was always rainy at night. The sea was quite calm though, but distant thunders were heard. However, usually this phenomenon is just a pause. The heat would come again after a short while.
On returning from JPJ, May 3 Wed 12 Shawal 1444H, going to visit the kubur mok-ayoh in Kalang Arang, passed through the once a foot-path in Tebauk, a very quiet pathway, sometimes so scary to a timid boy, the route in 1957-1963 to-and-fro Sekolah Bukit Tunggal I opted during hot-weather, to the tarmac-ed road Jln Kelantan which was far merry-er with bicycles and sporadic passing of cars, motocycle, and sometimes lorries. I used this route as well to the school when I borrowed my father's retired bicycle. I parked the bicycle under a school-mate's house, a distance away from the school. The bicycle was not fit to be taken right inside the school. It was too old and very rusty. The bicycle and I would become objects of fun to the school-goers. I lived then entirely under the fate of my destiny. May 5 Fri 14 Shawal 1444H a b-fast in Durian Burung, a NA's long time buddy. Smayang jumaat in Masjid Baru Tok Jembal. And in TJHOME started to deal with another "LANTAI TEMBOK". May 6 Sat 15 Shawal 1444H, visited ROSLAN who was recuperating from a foot injury operation at his home in Banggol Telipot.
May 9 Tue 18 Shawal 1444H, DRV-JERTEH for some missions. First seeing Dr Hasbullah in his place who then, with a 52-pax chengal 4x1x20-in, took us to see the tukang-lorek at the PUSAT UKIR in Kg Raja, to be so-done for the pagar-musang of WT-HOME front-stairs. Continued to see P-RIMAU, P-PANJANG, and T-BUGIS, seeing the trees and plants. Noted that all doyan were flowering, except the tok-litop in P-Rimau. The kelat in P-Rimau were doing great, especially the most senior cluster with four tandans to be harvested. The KUNYIT in T-BUGIS is surviving among the wilderness of the wild plants, it could be accidentally damaged by walkers. All NA's orchards were in need of close-by care for advantages. And homeward, to arrive before dark.
May 13 Sat 22 Shawal 1444H, DRVKUL, after a rather long post-shawal stay in TRG since Apr 24 Mon 3 Shawal 1444H with the 3-beradik stayed to Apr 29 Sat 8 Shawal 1444H. It was a fine weather. Sunny. Interestingly it was raining on the Banjaran Titiwangsa when we cross at the terowong Sempah. Beyond that, it appeared like the rain had just stopped in KL.
Resuming RAYA in SG MERAB. Missed yesterday was of YUSRI's MUJTAHID in JENGKA 14. In SG MERAB, it was of ALAUDDIN of Lot-3084, which SB said he 3-beradik went. And, rumah CG ROS in MERU KLANG, where the 3-beradik also went, and Malini et al of course. Today May 14 Sun 23 Shawal 1444H, one was in PUNCHAK ALAM, rumah NA's F1-3 Jerteh buddy, she had not seen each other since PMR. She and hubby happened to be UKM graduated in early 1990-s, while I was right there, the hubby especially was an x-Sains Hayat, who knew some of those I knew those years. SB-ASRI accompany-ed. The other afterward was in Green Field, Cyberjaya, that of Zidni's. All ank-cucu were present except Munif, Aidah, and Alya et al. SB DRV-ed to Air Keroh the next day May 15 Mon 24 Shawal 1444H, first thing in the morning.

May 16-31 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-29, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The SOP of face-masking was consistent of personal choice even though of recent it was noted an increase in cases, that some quarters invoked on insisting on re-mask-ing. 
May 17 Wed 26 Shawal 1444H, made CB to drive BKD, taking us to PUSRAWI for a visit to a SAS-ian junior buddy MIM, to have NA's knee examined.
May 21 Sun 1 Z-KAEDAH 1444H, attending the walimah of MB N9, in a district in PD. Went 4-beranak, plus Muzani et al. ASRI opted to skip to reserve for his semester exam from tomorrow 22-23 May. This may seem to be SB's home-weekend treat.
May 26 Fri 6 Z-Kaedah 1444H, a gathering of all ank-cu2, including Aidah who just arrived from MRSM Bera, except one Munif in SSAS Precint-1. ALYA et al were on home weekend, arrived in the early morning of Fri after a night drive from JB. SB arrived at the sun set. ALYA et al left for JB, May 27 Sat 7 Z-Kaedah 1444H night. And SB, back to Ayer Keroh, May 29 Mon 9 Z-Kaedah 1444 in the morning, he said en route by a taxi with colleagues to S-Pore for a training-pax till Jun 2 Fri.
May 30 Tue 10 Z-Kaedah 1444H, DRVTGG after in Sg Merab since May 13 Sat 22 Shawal 1444H, bye-ing CB-ASRI. To this date NA has no legal date to catch, but plenty of paper works to furnish. Both weather and traffic were very favourable with a plus of not many motorists on the move. Nonetheless, plenty of giant haulage were noted on LPT1. A break for a refreshment, and refuelling in Gambang RR. Garib in B-Besi LB. Noted in the night on arriving, TRG was rather dry, probably hot, but perhaps a lot of night dew. It was not as breezy as at seaside should be.

May 16 Tue 25 Shawal 1444H, noted the durian by the monsoon drain born some flowers, for the first time. It was planted there ca 2010, by Edi, in line with a mangosteen, and a moktan which took place after a mango was menaced by white-ants. Two of them, the other one appeared limping. Nonetheless, the current weather may not favour the flowers to proceed to the buds and young fruits. It's been raining heavily almost every evening. This weather is not a typical part of fruiting climate.
May 27 Sat 7 Z-Kaedah 1444H, WAZE-ing to Kota Damansara, with NA, attending the walimah of a NA's KIK buddy. It was an adventurous driving in TAV in view that I recognised the place geographically, but never been on the route to reach it. And Waze took to totally alien route full of flyovers, and notoriously toll-ing. It was Sat afternoon, on the first Sat of school holiday. Unfortunately with both hands on the wheel, the Olympus had the dead battery, and Samsung un-aligned lens barrel, img-ing was very much hampered, whereas most of the objects were very imbibing. Nonetheless the return route was appreciated, Waze took southward by KuchaiLama-SgBesi off FederalHWay-Kerinchilink, instead of the orthodox PLUS.

Jun 1-15 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-30, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The SOP of face-masking was entirely of personal choice. Nonetheless many institutions who deal with the public were noted to abide the advice. 
Kebun-wise, on the visit, Jun 3 Sat 14 Z-Kaedah 1444H, noted some appeared to be producing, but they needed a lot of attention, and touch up. Needless to say that the produces were not exclusive, i.e. for other creatures as well. There were pisang-nangka in TJHOMe, and pisang-kelat in both WTHOME. In P-Rimau, noted one had fallen down prematurely, or perhaps it had been in need for a support. There was even one kelat in T-Bugis, where there were some derian, near-falling, as well as in bud-state, similar to in P-Panjang. And plenty of duku-dokong, and manggis flowers.
Jun 9 Fri 20 Z-Kaedah 1444H, first meeting AJK Alumni 68 SMPM on a plan RU4-Q. The venue was in TJHOME. The attendance of the regular-68 was encouraging especially the girls. The meeting decided to hold it AUG 5 SAT in AM TRANSIT INN, adjacent to the airport. Almost immediately afterwards, NA was overloadedly complimented for the laksa after the meeting.
Jun 15 Thu 26 Z-Kaedah 1444H, it's time to hi Pok Sid, after so long not seeing him. He'd retired, ca a year ago, but free lancing, his spent part-time, did not appear to detach from his retirment. Met in ANAK JANTAN, depan SSEJID LLIPOT after iser. He appeared content with his life, all of it in KUZA, the alma mater, which is now left with a scarce of the pedigree KUZA-ans. KUZA is survived by UNIZA. |
Perhaps the weather in TRG had returned normal. Hot in the afternoon with a blue sky. It was breezy at the seaside, but the sea was very calm. Cloudy in the evening, which may turn to a skirmish rain in the wee hr. NA had no particular legal date. But plenty of paper works. And quite a number of walimah engagements of school buddies. It happened that the week of early Jun was the school break. Jun 2 Fri 13 Z-Kaedah 1444H in Ru Rendang, pre-visited a NA's colleague, for walimah they were holding the next day Sat, the wedding of their son. Jun 3 Sat 14 Z-Kaedah 1444H in TOK BALI for the walimah of NA's school-KIK-ian wedding of her daughter. Many school buddies turn up in the occasion, even as far as from Penang. Their visit obviously dragged to the next day Jun 4 Sun. Mon Jun 5 was M-Sia day. Jun 5 Mon 16 Z-Kaedah 1444H in Alur Tuman for the walimah of another NA's KIK-ian who was not seen each other since after STP. It was the wedding of his two sons.
Jun 6 Tue 17 Z-Kaedah 1444H, evening, RUBY et 3Fbuddies dropped by AKTGG at sun set for some USIM matters. One with IMTIAZ, KT on Jun 7 Wed, and another with UC-TATI, KIJAL on Jun 8 Thu, then took AKKUL back to Bangi. WLU was for her use on land travel for the two days.
Jun 11 Sun 22 Z-Kaedah 1444H, Zidni 5-beranak dropped by, he said ex-Kijal on some job matters, perhaps since Fri. And put up in WT-HOME for the night. SB hp-ed from Sg Merab on his home-weekend, before returning to Air Keroh, answering the long left-eye-ticking, since in Sg Merab before DRVTGG last May 30. Zidni et al left cyber-homeward the following day Jun 12 Mon 23 Z-Kaedah 1444H.
Jun 12 Mon, re-took the mower sent to Padang Air for service last Jun 10 Sat, the c-na needed up to two weeks just to clean the carb. At home then I did it myself. Detached the carburettor, cleaned all the tunnels. Tightened all the fixing screws. Incidentally MING-MOK came over to help, he said he usually opened up himself his mower. He overseered the procedures. And the cooperative touches returned the mower to its best.

Jun 15-30 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-31, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The SOP of face-masking was entirely of personal choice, that the invocation of insisting on re-mask-ing was now infrequent. 
Jun 19 Mon 30 Z-Kaedah 1444H, DRVKUL after staying in TRG since May 30 Tue 10 Z-Kaedah 1444H, perhaps the longest in recent routine. Took the coastal road up to CheLijah Dungun, then took the LPT2. Along the way, collected items that were in schedule, mostly food stuff. Weather-wis, and traffic-wise all were favourable, even in MRR2, and especially in BTS, where it seemed that the construction had finished.
Jun 29 Thu 10 Z-Hijjah 1444H RAYA QURBAN, 1444H, in SG MERAB HOME, with ank-cucu of 4-5-6-7-8, et al, plus Ruby's u3-beradik. The 1-2-3 et al were with their respective in-law in Seb Takir, Yan, and K-Selangor. Smayang raya in SNR where only four persons knew-and-known each other out of the full house of the SNR. Utz Shukur, Rabuan, OsmanHassan-Mem. Unlike those happy days, perhaps only four person were not known. PokJo dropped by in the late morning, he said in a lull before commencing the qurban in his Raudah. And Muzani's LPP buddy dropped by after noon. With that 10 Z-Hijjah passed by, quietly. Zidni et al nonetheless dropped by the next day Fri 11 Z-Hijjah, ending the Jun.

New nebors in the making. Noted the signs since many days ago. Bracing for the magnitude of nebor-ness, perhaps in a year time.
Jun 17 Sat 28 Z-Kaedah 1444H, DRV-JERTEH, the main objective was to plant the MK in Jerteh. The babies were acquired from JAD Uniza, 3pcs/100rm. Initial arrival was in P-Rimau. Looking at the KELAT cluster, and available AMER MEK, spent the first half of the day in P-Rimau. When we left in the late afternoon, one-third of the long grass was mowed. And the kelat cluster was accessible, hopefully to be benefited during the next visit. One MK baby was a in T-Bugis around Kunyit, and the other two in P-Panjang at the sites where the previous planted baby were wiped out by the big flood last Dec-Jan. In T-Bugis it was a rather unhopeful, that under the trees were the fallen very young fruits. Even the manggis, and the duku-dokong. Thus this Sep-Oct is not an hopeful harvest. The wind, the rain, and the heat had been three unfavourable variables. And similarly in P-Panjang on almost all trees, manggis included
Getting SG MERAB HOME presentable for the coming soon RAYA QURBAN. Mostly around the perimeter. Tall grass and lalang. The answer usually was MOWING. Not least were the principle ingredients from the wet market. SB arrived from Ayer Keroh at sun set of the Wukuf day, joined by MALINI et al for NA-ASRI-SB iftar. ALYA ET AL arrived from JB on the wee hr of the RAYA HAJI.
