2023G Diary

Linked by Kepok Made in Tok Mir

Dated: 2023 Oct 15 Sun 29 R-Awal 1445H

October 1-15 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-38, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The talk of the matter was very quiet now.

Oct 6 Fri 20 R-Awal 1445H, WFV was successfully restored to post-cooling-coil. It started with the broken front right tyre, happened a while ago but was not fixed immediately. A 2nd tyre was fitted. The fender was fixed with tit-bit and gam-campur mixed by CB. Both front mudflaps were fixed using scavenged screws. And spare tyre bay retaining screw were also gam-campor-ed. Nonetheless, the engine under cover was still unfitted. Still post-coolingcoil, limping with a-cond not switching-on, erratic wiper sudden-start, and dead clock. Judging by the amount of dismantling done to it, perhaps re-assembling the wiring was rather poorly finished off. SB returned for the home week end at the sun set.

Plus, maintaining the house perimeter needed a well concerted of available effort.

Oct 11 Wed 25 R-Awal 1445H, DRVTGG with NA in TAV, bye-ing CB and ASRI, promising the latter to be back again in time for his semester exam. Noted Ruby, Malini, with Muzani in X-Trail, and Zidni et al had arrived in TJHOME ca 4 this morning, drv-ing at past ten last night. They were to attend the burial of NORIAH@FATIMAH, Azizah's immediate younger sister who passed on yesterday evening. The four managed it in full time. And back to KL in the late afternoon, noted their zoom in the opposite direction in PAKA vic. The lower four of the sibling could not make it. It was in a nice weather, with as always some skirmishes in Kemaman-Dungun vic. And the traffic too. In a rare time we could make in 5 h SgMerab-BJong toll. One stop refreshment in Temerloh, and another in Kijal, tukar drebar. Arriving in Sepetir 1527, and TJHOME 1620, seeing soon the lonely home of Kamal with Noriah demised. Joined the tahlil afetr iser in Masjid Jamek Pantai Tok Jembal, and the following two nights.

Oct 14 Sat 28 R-Awal 1445H, DRV-JERTEH for multiple tasks. The main was the engagement majlis of late AbgArif daughter in Alor Lintang. All NA's sibling were present with some ank2sedara. A torrential rain contracted the time. A visit to AbgJamil's new home in Taman PMINT near by. A peek in P-Rimau, seeing the Lembu returned as before. It was late to visit Jerteh Mall for serindit. Homeward, home-ed before sun set.

Oct 1 Sun 15 R-Awal 1445H, a visit to the Centrum to replenish the kitchen. Noted the egg section which was like to be closed supposedly due to the recent 'embargo'. The chicken, the first to suffer appeared a plenty. Currently beras is like at a gun-point. My take next is cooking oil and sugar.

Wasting no time, the next day Oct 12 Thu 26 R-Awal 1445H, fishing in PKB. It was plenty of supplies, thus the price was perhaps the lowest of the season. The bapok kembong and selar, was only 17rm/kg which in Bangi may fetch 25rm/kg. Even ayer hitam was just 11rm/kg. Kisi, selayang, lolong, were in below 10rm/kg vic. Sutung appeared out of season already. Noted in PTJ, kisi on the stalls waiting for the customer.

Oct 13 Fri 27 R-Awal 1445H, in the Morning Bazaar in MARAS. My star-attraction here at the moment was kepok made in Tok Mir, KEPOK ATANLIZA. Singgah immediately on arrival. Sembang with the staller. Started with duduk-mana. Batu-6. Ayh-Li. He said he's anak-sedara MOKSU, he said MokChik to him. He was ALYAS NGOH POK KATOK, and more surprise cucu TOK SU KARIN, where in kiddy time he always visited, thus knew me, even my exact local name, SOMAD, and parents and top siblings. The talk reflected into the old days of Kalang Arang, when TokSu, Pok Ngoh, Pok Li were our dependable immediate neighbour together with PokNgohWeil-MokLong. His cousin Usop MdNong. He was born in 1956, and went to SK Bkt Tunggal as well. He knew AbgRa, and Num. Currently staying in PokKatok the same place as where Zzali came from. Married, for the second time 3y ago to a TEPOH-an. In all the chat, I could not remember a pinch of the memory with him. Ended up beli KEPOK, TAPIR pulut, and an FOC tapir-ubi.

Oct 15 Sun 29 R-Awal 1445H, bracing for DRVKUL. Tidy-ing the backyard. To monitor closely was the lemon which had started to produce in harvestable quantity. A series of seven betik were re-planted in a row at the far back. The soil at the place was original, it used to be swampy, thus the soil is black, but sandy, unsure its water retention. For that two of the seven were accompanied by makeshift water slow-delivery of pierced plastic water bottle. But unknown yet how long a bottle of water could last. A baby date palm was added to the row. The benih was from the seed we threw away near the nursery site.

TJHOME DIY Re-Tiling

Dated: 2023 Oct 31 Tue 16 R-Akhir 1445H

October 16-31 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-39, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The talk of the matter practically had died down.

Oct 16 Mon 1 R-AKHIR 1445H, DRV-BANGGOL-SETIU, for a lunch among available NA's adik-beradik. KakEsah-Nor, AbgMurad-3beranak, KakTi-AbgJak, us ber-2, Zana-Ilham, and AbgPar-KakLah the host.

Oct 19 Thu 4 R-Akhir 1445H, visiting MALAKAT MALL to replenish the kitchen sundries. Noted on the arrival evening the awning had sagged, Asri noticed it the day before. Perhaps it was reaching twenty years. Fix-ed it bit by bit with CB, engineered the fixation from step by step as it progressed.

Oct 21 Sat 6 R-Akhir 1445H, ank-cu2 gathered for Oct BD-ians. Adnin, Aidan, and belated Ruby. Alya et al in JB, Munif in SSAS, and Niza-4-beranak could not make it. Others all present including Muzani, and SB who was on his routine home-weekend Fri evening Mon morning.

Oct 26 Thu 11 R-Akhir 1445H, another peek into UKM FUU, for NA's matter again. It was drizzling. Singgah UNIKEB. UKM now is a foreign land, and relatively a continent, and I am a total foreigner of different continent. Fortunately, there had been no jaga at the gates. Otherwise, jenuh isi borang, etc. Noted the phenomenal congestion outward which in my time through to my retirement in 2007 was a rare happening.

Oct 27 Fri 12 R-Akhir 1445H, DRVTGG IN TAV 4 BERANAK WITH CB, ASRI. Could not remember when both were last in TRG. Both the weather and traffic were fine. At home just rather early, just masuk asar, being in Sepetir, Tok Jembal, and finally W-Tengah. All were in order.

Oct 17 Tue 2 R-Akhir 1445H, DRVKUL with NA in TAV. Into LPT2 at Dungun. A hazy day all along from TRG to Sg Merab. But traffic-wise was excellent, even in MRR2. Late b-fast in Marang water front, refuelled in Prasing, and another refreshment in Temerloh. Home in Sg Merab an hr before dark, NA to accompany ASRI in his start of sem exam the next day Oct 18 Wed 3 R-Akhir 1445H.

Oct 28 Sat 13 R-Akhir 1445H, in TJHOME, pakat 3-beranak embarking on a DIY of re-tiling the R-3 floor which had partly exploded. It took through the rest of Oct, maximising the availability of CB-ASRI, especially for the hacking of the base concrete, and mixing the simin-gam. NA had all the time with her BAR matters, weaving with delivering the afternoon provision.

Dated: 2023 Nov 15 Wed 1 J-Awal 1445H

Nov 10 Fri 26 R-Akhir 1445H, it was wet and thunderous lightening every evening since out home-ing Nov 2 Thu with a hot sunny afternoon. The grass thus grew faster than the available dry time to mow. Every evening waited for a lull of rain-thunder to mow, and managed spottily around the house. SB returned for the home weekend. This weekend was a day longer for the DEWALI on Nov 12 Sun.

Monsoon was Peeking

Dated: 2023 Nov 30 Thu 16 J-Awal 1445H

Nov 16-30 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es was MCO-F5-41, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Noted as on Nov 16 Thu, the last update was Nov 5 Sun, posting the data of Nov 4 Sat.

Nov 19 Sun 5 J-Awal 1445H, a whole day raining. A b-fast randv with Che Loh, and Dr Abdullah in AnY opposite the UMT Stadium. On conceding, detoured to TJHOME, noted that a PISANG NANGKA needed a support from a broken stem.

Nov 29 Wed 15 J-Awal 1445H, DRV-KETEREH, taking Abg Di, and NA for a mission. Amir accompany-ed, in Abg Di's Estima. It was a bright morning in TRG, but rainy in Kelantan. The mission was accomplished, but the results needed time. Near mid-night, visited MokLong who was returned in an ambulance, apparently from a two-nights warded in HSNZ.

Nov 30 Thu 16 J-Awal 1445H, Covid data reappeared in the web, citing last dated Nov 26 Sun, displaying the data dated Nov 25 Sat, which appeared consistent with the last displayed data dated Nov 4 Sat. Missing two Sat-s.

Nov 16 Thu 2 J-Awal 1445H, it was a half day RAINY DAY, from the wee hr, the rain the kind of monsoon season, sans strong wind though. Second half of the day was sunny and bright with sporadic torrential short shower. Sunny enough to enable a mowing in the evening in W-Tengah, apparently in preparation for the coming rain in days to come. It did, almost every day, that the drain in front of WT home had overloaded, it spilt to lowground surrounded it. It was FLOOD.

Nov 30 Thu 16 J-Awal 1445H, DRVKUL in TAV with NA. KT was drizzling when we set off. And obviously getting drier on approaching Pahang. Traffic was very clear throughout, including in KUL when we reached Gombak ca 1630 including MRR2. KUL was dry but not too hot.

Similarly Wet

Dated: 2023 Dec 15 Fri 2 J-Akhir 1445H

Dec 1-15 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, was MCO-F5-42, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. The new data re-appeared for the Nov 25 Sat, after missing two Sat-s. In the media, rakyat were warned, including by MOH of the increasing cases.

Dec 6 Wed 22 J-Awal 1445H, ALYA 3-beranak returned to Sg Merab on a job trip of a conference she co-managed in KL campus of UTM, Dec 7-8 Thu-Fri. Adam-s stayed with us, Ruby sent Afiah to accompany Adam-s.

Dec 8 Fri 24 J-Awal 1445H ank-cu2 gathered for a quick KEK-ING for the Nov-Dec-ians. Almost every one was in except Muzani et al, who in turn, turned up Dec 11 Mon. CB could not participate well due to a positive, which was just after ASRI recovered from a selsema. Alya-Adam-s left for JB the next day Dec 9 Sat afternoon. And SB, DRV-iKEROH, as always, at the first light of Dec 11 Mon, the evening before which, Dec 10 Sun, NA tutor-ed a Tajweed class for MALINI's, and Ruby's. SB joined.

Dec 1 Fri 17 J-Awal 1445H, the first move to replenishing the kitchen. Visiting the frozen store, after making a promise to visit a dermatologist in An-Nur Sect-9, and it was on Dec 3 Sun.

Dec 2 Sat 18 J-Awal 1445H, a mission drive early in the morning to the heart of KUL, taking NA for her BAR c/tee meeting. Sat-traffic-fortunately, the drive was swift. We were home again before 9. SB in his routine home weekend, accompany-ed, in being helpful before drv-iKEROH in the early morning of Dec 4 Mon 20 J-Awal 1445H.

Dec 12 Tue 28J-Awal 1445H, a roaming in the vic of Surau An-Nur. The last time I was around was when Asri in F5 of SMK-J2. Post that even rarely passing the road. Unlike when all the eight kids were in SRK-J2. Noted the Tue D-Shifaq was not as crowded as during the life of the late Dr Haron Din. Nonetheless the place was well maintained and run after his passing 2016 Sep 16. Similar places in Ketapang, and Kuala Ibai, were similar when we visited Nov 22 Wed.

Weather-wise, Sg Merab in early Dec was not much different from W-Tengah. It's wet most of the time with a similar pattern of rainy evening through to the night. House perimeter could not be adequately maintained.

Dec 14 Thu 1 J-AKHIR 1445H, DRVTGG in TAV with NA. Two or three tasks to be accomplished in TRG before new year 2024 appears. Traffic was favourable, making the drive conform the the bench mark of six-and-half hr, including a 55-min refreshment in Gambang RR. However the weather was rather dreary. No sunshine at all through out. A dull, cloudy day from Sg Merab, and rainy after Gambang RR, very heavy in Paka vic. However the rain subsided on arrival, that the bazaar in Pok Tuyu was seen alive. Signs were abundant that it had been rainy for the past several days. The home in W-Tengah was surrounded by water, small plants like anak-betik, were all drowned.

Dec 15 Fri 2 J-Akhir 1445H, the first tasking in TJHOME vic. A get together among ipars about a pcs of land in Jeram. It was cordially agreed for a togetherness.

2023 Receded

Dated: 2023 Dec 31 Sun 18 J-Akhir 1445H

Dec 16-31 covid, the accompany-ing FOTOTEKS-es, was MCO-F5-43, topping the previous COVID-MCO-es. Apparently cases were rising. In the media, authorities insisting on the re-masking, but the public did not take serious about it.

In wasap, it was informed that an ex-UDM colleague, Dr Kassim Hamid in PJ, passed on Dec 16 Sat 3 J-Akhir 1445H. He was the programme founder in 2007 of the Animal Production and Health in FPB UDM Kota, now FBIM UNISZA, in Tembila Besut.

Dec 17 Sun 4 J-Akhir 1445H, accomplishing the third task. Attending Kamal's initiative RATIB for 4-beranak, Bak(d080321), Azizah(d100620), Chek(d220119) and Noriah(d231010) in Masjid Jamek Tok Jembal, after iser.

Dec 18 Mon 5 J-Akhir 1445H, a quick get together in Satay Chalok, off Ramly Frozen at night lepas iser, with Dr Abdullah-3-beradik who eventually appointed the firm to take their ca 3M through the High Court.

Dec 20 Wed 7 J-Akhir 1445H, a lull since in the morning with sunshine. Decided to DRV-JERTEH-SETIU. The principle task was to procure Serindit, and to see the Kelat for any harvestable TANDAN. Both were accomplished. The latter was with one lost to the nature, but the second, fallen, was rescued. The sporadic rain, and wet, kept us away from a short mowing. There were two more in waiting in the orchard. A view in T-Bugis, but no significant progress. NA skipped P-Panjang, but made a third task of stopping in Banggul Setiu for a gelenggang-bath and makan nasi. We were home before sunset.

Dec 25 Mon 12 J-Akhir 1445H, it was a lull of rain in the first half of the day, but the wind was getting stronger, the tengkujuh type, bringing quite a nasty rain in the second half through to the night. SB SPBoming-TRG ex-Hentian Kajang, arriving at the sun set in quite a downfall.

Dec 30 Sat 17 J-Akhir 1445H, DRVKUL in TAV with NA, and SB. And convoy-ing with MUZANI et al who dropped by in W-Tengah since Dec 28 Thu 15 J-Akhir 1445H ex-KB-ex-KK. Strolling the beach route from KT, stopping in Rusila R-LEMPENG for an early lunch. Took LPT2 in K-Dungun toll. Another pitstop in Kuantan LB for zohor-asar, from where Muzani et al detoured to a Felda visit of his former acquaintance. The weather was good in TRG, bright and some sunshine. Noted the less choppy sea. The rain started after Gambang, and nearly all the way to KUL. Titiwangsa was wet. Quite a slow-moving on approaching Gombak toll. KUL was dry on MRR2 after Flamingo. A stop in Pandan Indah Soto to pass on some docs to Che Loh, and with a soto treat, and Cheras Baru Petron for garib-iser. Home ca 2020.

Dec 31 Sun 18 J-Akhir 1445H, stayed put in Sg Merab home, 5-beranak with CB, SB, and Asri. First half of the day was sunny, second half was cloudy with sporadic drizzling. A cold evening.

Dec 16 Sat 3 J-Akhir 1445H, accomplishing the second task. Hosting for ANI in her #1daughter engagement. Fundamentally it was a repeat of the event Aug 31 Thu 14 Safar 1445H, the #2daughter engagement. Both were scheduled to be solemnised in Feb next year 2024. The next day Dec 17 Sun 4 J-Akhir 1445H, POKJO yielded to the impossible in practice to gather what was needed to further the terekoh of TANAH KALANG ARANG. All the involved parties attended. Tok Gembang, Batas Pok Beng, Seb Takir, and the Pentadbir.

Dec 22 Fri 9 J-Akhir 1445H, post-Jumaat, a ngekoh cucu HJ MAN Alumni SMKPM-SAS, and mem CG Jamnah, in their place in the vic of Masjid Wakaf Mesu. Hi-ed one WAN MUDA, my much senior home-lad during my growing up time in Kalang Arang, a prominent figure during afternoon frolic by the river, as I remembered in early 1960-s. Razali, Hasnah, Noriah et al were also joining.

Dec 23 Sat 10 J-Akhir 1445H, a quick solo visit to Manir bazaar even in the rainy morning for some sundries. The rain prevented from a leisure strolling for anything h-ware nature. The day was followed by a walimah in Bukit Tumbuh of Fatimah Long an SMKPM Alumni and hubby Capt Md Nor. It was rainy all day during the event. Apparently the occasion receded further beyond, to SEK KEB BUKIT TUNGGAL years of 1958-1963 primary school. With Fatimah, Nafisah, and another, Maziah, we were innocent buddies.
