It was its 37th, the 5th session, 2013 Oct 28 Mon. I was here last year, the 36th, 1st session, which was on Sat, representing Unisza, on the stage. Both were of exact routine, like in an abattoir. And exactly like thirty-five times before. And every time, I kept wondering to myself, how different I was from the rest of them in one thing. The music that was supposedly to accompany the graduates receiving their scroll. It was so loud that the name announcer had to compete to make him-alt-her heard to the audience, even to the q-ing graduates. And the music always wanted to be louder than the announcer, and the announcer yelled to make louder to make him-alt-her heard by the audience. And thus very soon all went to maximum volume. I wondered what was the opinion of the organizer on this competing sound in the event so important to the graduates and their parents? I opined that they deliberated it because they had been bored by the same routine every year, six to eight times in three to four days. Year after year over the years.
Once I was on a commuting bus for about an hour journey. The seats were full by people going home from a full day work in office. These people were tired, some even fall to nap. And during that one hr drive in the traffic-congested road, and a drizzling outside, the driver put on a very loud music. Was it for the tired and sleepy passengers? No, it was for the bored driver. The passengers preferred a quiet drive home after a tiring long day in office. It was an agony during that one hour ride.
